Fuck AI, folks. Fuck it with fire and every swear and the bottomless contempt and disappointment I nurse in the jaded soul that somehow still endures in my exploited cog body. I don't want to be subtle here. I don't want to be misunderstood. Fuck AI. Fuck ALL OF IT. Fuck AI users and AI enablers. 🖕🤖

Good art comes from making a lot of terrible art. It’s in the process of improving and learning and making choices that breakthroughs happen. I hope we all keep making really, really bad art. Fill your hard drive, notebooks, sketchpads, canvases, and life with the worst you can do.

At a gathering where the cursed question has been posed: what does Santa smell like? My theory is Very Bad Reindeer BO + Old Milk and some of noxious body spray. What do YOU think???

The broken writer brain oscillation between describing my book in tangible, grounded plot ways and then losing control while a mad man puppets me and I start ranting about the friction between optimistic futurism and grim doomerism in contemporary science fiction and

I need to come up with a lot of opinions on things I was careful to never let myself believe would/could ever happen. So far this is my debut novelist experience. When there’s little blossoms of hope and excitement I guess I am not supposed to stomp on all of them now? Wild.

If Stephen King wrote Science Fiction & grew up in the Pacific Northwest he would write books like An Oath of Dogs by @wnwagner.bsky.social

It's a read through damn responsibilities & bedtime book so start early on a day off. Satisfyingly unsatisfying creepily calm.

Adding a +1 to the recommendations I have seen for the Baltimorons. A really lovely movie with an XXL amount of heart.

It’s possible there’s a more awesome writing soundtrack than Iron Maiden but I don’t think I am ready for that power.

Elliott Kalan has on occasion described Star Wars as a movie about a boy who gives a robot a bath, and it's through that lens that I come up with these.

people, you have the chance to put my book ahead of Olivia Nuzzi’s on the bestseller list. put aside all other considerations and think how objectively funny this would be. #1, that Mountain Goats guy. #2, Antivax Man Has My Heart. funniest list of the century. We can do this if we try

Rewatching a movie tonight that had a huge impact and sentimental value for me as a teenager. That’s right, folks: Hal Hartley’s 1997 weird indie black comedy HENRY FOOL.

Friends, if I ever got lost and forget to use my meager experience to help my fellow writers, remind me. Please. The writers that I looked up and consider my heroes _always_ did (and still do!) their very best to share knowledge. I aspire to emulate that. Also, I can probably help you move.

I don't use Spotify but analysis of my 2025 musical tastes came up with "Oh God. Oh... Oh no. Are you... Do you need a hug, Erik?" Seems accurate.

One of my best friends when I was a kid had an older brother diagnosed with AIDS. He was a comic and fantasy book nerd with strong opinions. He was also gay in a small town and died from complications of the disease as a pariah. I was still a teenager. This isn’t ancient history. Remember them all.
