There was absolutely no violence in my areas of western MA; rather, the protesters preceding exercised their First Amendment rights.
Yet, the cost of living there is sky-high. Fiscal mismanagement is what comes to mind. Little to no return on tax dollars. Two friends of mine recently got priced out of San Fran and found it less expensive to live in Hawaii!
I’m moderate myself and vote in accordance with the issue. CA has been a mess for decades, as it is trying to right this country’s wrongs on immigration; fiscally, it’s not working, nor do CA republicans have an answer. Fixing the immigration system must happen federally. I kayak out of Glastonbury!

I live with my parents and son and help all three. We’re in MA, and we are fortunate to have a solid public education system here. I’m sorry to see the troubles of CA schools. That state has been under constant attack from the right. My third graders are quite engaged with cursive. I make it fun!
Fewer and fewer schools are teaching civics and cursive, both of which are essential skills and knowledge for success today. My local schools teach both, as my sixth-grade son is learning both. I teach cursive, although not required by my school, to my third grade students. They’re embracing it!
You bring up great points that crossed my mind, leaving me uncertain as to how to address it. Do we start him now or wait a bit? I commend your dad and feel ready to bring my son to the next rally. Thank you for your support, inspiration, and courage. I ❤️ the Bluesky community for this!
In my Western MA community, the police helped people cross the street and managed traffic so that everyone was safe. After all, it’s law enforcement’s job to protect and serve, including protecting democracy. Most know that and honor the badge in that way, at least where I live, that is.
This is a beautiful sight. Had I had coverage for my 11-year-old son, whom I have full-time, I would’ve gone, but I don’t think that, as intelligent as he is, he would’ve grasped the full meaning enough to endure the couple of hours of peaceful protesting. When he studies civics, WE will be there!
The No Kings Rally is an illustration of exactly how our democracy is supposed to work. Brave people fought and sacrificed their lives for this freedom; therefore, any impediment to such peaceful protests is an abject infringement on our inalienable rights afforded by the constitution. Be seen!
I commend everyone for exercising their CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH today, as we see our democracy eroding before our very eyes. From massive cuts to education to economically damaging tariffs to violent acts of discrimination against our immigrant communities, we must stand up and be seen.
Our dads shared common values in their work. 🥰 Many of our employees also lasted to the end. My dad retires next month, and I just took a job in education.
As someone who was born into a small business and worked for it for 25 years, there are other, creative, and intangible means of human capital investment. I totally agree with you, as small businesses have less in financial resources than their larger counterparts in virtually every respect.
Helping with rising healthcare insurance is a great place to start. For most of us, it’s the single, largest payroll deduction apart from income taxes.
When you meaningfully invest in your employees, you’re sending a message that loudly says, “ you are our most valuable resource.” The return on that investment is achieving higher market share through increased employee engagement, meaning less disruptive turnover. They get a sense of belonging.
Been there, done that, and sleep is overrated, anyway, right? 🤪 I hope you ultimately got that draft submitted and looking exactly as you wanted it. 😊
No Kings rallies allow us a constitutionally protected platform on which to voice our legitimate concerns regarding the dismantling of the Ed. Dept., a broken immigration system, rising healthcare and housing costs, among others that are driving class division. Scared repubs are weaponizing police.
My 11-year-old son, a clarinetist, took offense to the feds taking custody of one of his own. Music unites us all while Trump and ICE divide us. Music and its power of unity won!
AOC demonstrates every day that she can empathize with the middle, working, and poor classes that are the 99 percenters, off whose backs the rich got richer. She’ll never forget where she came from, and those roots reflect in her values, thereby in her SERVICE to others. She’s authentic as can be.
Have the repubs ever really shown up for work? 🤪
They’re working hard each and every day— working to appease their wealthy donors. We don’t see the republicans working because they can’t relate to anyone with a net worth less than a million dollars.
Emily wrote an invaluable book to support music education; furthermore, this book reflects shifts in music curricula and showcases pedagogy that is rooted in evidence-based practices that maximize student engagement. When I connect music theory to modern, popular music, the class is all in!
Last year, I wrote a book about teaching musical concepts through popular music in the K–20 classrooms. If that is your kind of thing, you can purchase it as a downloadable here through the fabulous publisher F-Flat Books.

You’re very welcome, and that’s fantastic that we’re teaching at the same grade level. I’d love to keep in touch. I followed you on here, too. Feel free to follow me back, if you’d like to. 😊
I will also write you in the weeks to come with feedback from my peers and students. Also, if it’s feasible, get this published on Kindle and Apple Books! Thanks again! 😊 🎵 🎶
Emily: I just purchased a copy, and your content will be perfect for the elementary kids to whom I co-teach music theory and percussion. I teach third-grade but help our music teacher. This book will meet my students right where they are and thereby engage them. Thank you for publishing this! 🎼
To all who are complaining about her being a billionaire, she earned every cent of it. Let her be an inspiration to our youth. She also showcases generosity through her giving to charities and the bonuses to her own staff, an expression of immense gratitude to others who supported her steadfastly.
