If your rep is a die-hard DJT supporter, don’t waste your time; however, I’m lucky to be from MA, so we are diametrically opposed to the Venezuelan issue. I get that there are drug-smuggling vessels out there, but our coast guard can stop them in OUR waters. We don’t need to invade THEIR land.

I’m not at all surprised at that. When I student-taught third grade, you wouldn’t believe what I heard, or maybe you would! 😆

Invade so that energy and food prices can skyrocket? If he’s that stupid, let him do himself and his party of “no” in, please!

The system is broken under this abominable administration— high cost of housing, rising unemployment & healthcare, cuts to education & mental healthcare, targeting migrants, rolling back environmental laws, attacking women’s rights, etc. To think that anyone could support this $hit! Unbelievable!

Jim McGovern is as real and honest as they come. I live in the state that he represents, although not in his district. He’s genuinely concerned for the working people.

Remember “drill, baby, drill”? Well, I guess stealing it from another nation complements tRump’s domestic energy ambitions. We wonder why the entire world has lost respect for us. We’re probably now just as isolated as North Korea. Well, Kim Jong Un and DJT are buddies. 🤔 Two peas in a pot?

Holy shit. We’re living in a horror film. We’re a global embarrassment. We’re not even welcomed by others much anymore when we visit other countries, so I’m told by recent international travelers, and for a damn good reason. We’re seen as a toxic culture, all because many here have induced this.

And, the proof is in the pudding. Unemployment is now as high as it was at the onset of the national Covid shutdown. In my area, W. MA, layoffs abound, so there’s a surplus of talented labor across all industries, leading to employers depressing pay to poverty levels for skilled jobs. Nice, tRump! 🤬

The vouchers exacerbate poorly performing schools by pilfering what little funding many of them have. Vouchers are not the solution; rather, level funding for education is, as it ensures equitable access so that quality education isn’t limited to wealthy zip codes in which most can’t afford to live.

Immigration is excellent for our diversity and workforce; however, the workers compensation insurance laws need overhauling. I closed my small contracting firm due to no help, and none of the WC carriers allowed me to get coverage on an undocumented worker. I could’ve had jobs for them! How sad.

K-8 schools are rare today, and I was weight in one, too. Around 2001, my local public school district reorganized into pre-k-6 and seven through 12 at the middle and high school. That model has served our town very well. The district’s diversity in culture and programming has come a very long way.

Just outside of Albany, before which, he was in the Saratoga Springs schools, which are fantastic! So, he’s in a local Catholic school now (Berkshire’s of Western MA), but may be transferring to our local middle and high school, also very strong. His current school made cuts in extra-curriculars.

We are fortunate to live in a culturally rich area that values teaching history in community spaces outside of a traditional classroom. I’ll add that my eldest son (11) is behind in history at his new school because his old middle school from last year didn’t even teach it! We’re making up for it.

I come from a family of educators and student-taught elementary school briefly. I’m now pursuing my school business administrator license. Never have I seen indoctrination by liberal teachers, of which I am, too; however, real indoctrination is book-banning and anti-LGBTQ, coming from…the right.

I learned that the hard way— don’t count on admin. I pulled my son out of a public middle school in NY in which students in his class fought with each other and the teacher so much that by the time he got over to MA, he was almost a whole year behind. He said he felt like he was in a raucous prison.
December 16, 2025 at 4:20 AM
I interviewed a couple of weeks ago for a reading interventionist position. When admin asked what I’d do with a disruptive student who wouldn’t calm down, I said that I’d expect a supportive admin to take the student and spare 20 others from the grief of one. I got death stares and no call back. WTF

I love seeing this. As a cis male, I wear a silver necklace with a guitar pick pendant on it that features a Taylor Swift quote, one that my two boys, ages 7 and 11, espouse. It reads, “Just be yourself. There is no one better.” I tell my boys that we’re all special; just be and love who you are.
December 16, 2025 at 3:09 AM
Your admin should support you on dealing with that child so that said child is no longer a disruption to every other student, IMHO. If you’re forced by admin to adapt your class to a disruptive student, then all that does is empower said student and strengthen their resolve to be more of an asshole.
December 16, 2025 at 3:00 AM
I just started using it more often; however, tread carefully. Not everything it produces is accurate. Use your critical thinking. If something seems off, it might be. Out of desperation one day when admin switched up my teaching assignment, I resorted to AI to produce an ELA and Math lesson. Yikes!!

Conservatives are stuck in their ways— anti LGBTQIA, anti environment, anti public education, ban books, start wars, align with Russia, etc. Their master is delivering quite well! 🤦‍♂️

The data assessments we did at the beginning of the year in order to ascertain where my kids were, were stifling. I know this info informs our final syllabus, which we had to tweak. Thankfully, as a student teacher, I was able to evaluate the ELA and math assessments so the teacher could keep going.

It’s very important that students be able to learn from teachers who share a culture with them. I co-taught with an Asian-America woman who minored in Spanish and spoke it fluently with our ELL students, who were 1/3 of our class. That’s how you meet students where they are and build their trust.

The list goes on and on, wholly due to inaction. We’ve become numb to these heinous acts. We cannot allow such barbarism to be normalized, albeit it has been since 1999! I recall the VT incident vividly while staying over at my ex-wife’s college dorm shortly after we met, so that was extra chilling.
