📌 Hi bluesky!

Who: Eric, a creative Christian (but not THAT kind) who enjoys talking games, sports, humor, faith, family.

What: I make games! @tinybookshelf.itch.io

Warning: I may indulge in abrupt/extreme tonal shifts (silly/serious), post pretty actively, and share bad jokes. I try to be kind.
I will stay creative, and keep putting stuff into the universe that wasn't there before.

Being able to read, think, and order your words is a good thing -- delegating this to machines is bad.

Perpetual debate is dumb; at some point you have to choose values, and stand on them.

I’d much rather you make sincere and embodied “bad art” than make insincere and hollowed out “good art”

I still drink my coffee black.

I suspect this will always be the case.

Can your taste in coffee change?

I imagine sometimes it does for people.

Good morning! Hope you're doing okay. If you're not, that sucks, and I hope it changes soon.

Tall guy life: Just hit my head on the ceiling. 🙄

Pretty hard! It hurt!

My son laughed at me. 😭

Oh, why thank you, I'll be back to Promo Mode eventually I promise. 😅

Also, make sure you're following @tinybookshelf.itch.io for more frequent/focused development updates! 💚

Yes, please. 💚 We'll make a plan sometime, maybe when the weather warms up a little?! Let's keep in touch on this!

Last year we had to kinda put a halt on some plans and stuff but this year (knock on wood, cross your fingers, all that) should be smoother-going. 👍 I'll make it happen.
February 3, 2026 at 6:14 PM
That might be the *only* reliable expectation I can offer. 😅😬

If you're looking for a straightforward gameplay experience, I'm not your guy, but even as I dabble in different genres I hope there's always a throughline of whimsy, for sure. Silliness and wonder and weird/unnecessary/frivolous vibes.
Can we expect more whimsy?

Over five years ago (!), I released my first commercial game: Octobug, a short & quirky platformer for $3.

I am finally making good, steady progress on my next couple commercial releases, although they'll still be short & budget-priced!

Ask me anything. :)

No matter how well you know the science, the formula, the mechanics of it... if you're writing, you have to revise your drafts as you go. Chefs are tasting as they cook. Musicians listen as they compose. Artists have erasers.

The process is part of the deal, and it's a good one.

Good morning, neighbors! Let's have a good one out there today. Go team.
