Energy and civilian police oversight lately.
This is so disgusting. Neighbors and community members came out to protect our community. I spent 3 hours there. It was not a violent mob. They were gassing people repeatedly. If this is their idea of a separation ordinance we need something different, real sanctuary.

I feel this in my bones every day. I am so lucky in life, wonderful kids, amazing fiance’, bounced back from a divorce, meaningful job that I love and kick ass at. And every day I am exhausted and barely able to focus and just bone weary. And it’s not remotely directly attacking me.
There's a pretty great Tumblr post about this:

My partner just owns the complete recipes from every single ATK episode, and she’s the supposedly neurotypical person in the household. Why own a subscription when you can just have it all on paper. Next we’ll just print out all of Wikipedia.

My public service announcement for today is that America’s Test Kitchen, which is infinitely better then NYTimes Cooking, has introduced a new gift link option that has no limit on how many you can share and each link lasts 30 days.

SPD pepper sprayed us over and over today, claiming they were making way for an ambulance on a road that was entirely blocked by several federal vehicles. The crowd would have made room for either a stretcher or ambulance as they have done at many protests.

Local police (SPD) are again doing ICE’s dirty work. Tear-gassing those of us trying to protect our neighbors.

ICE calling their fake papers warrants should be a crime of forgery.

No shit.
The entire debate about whether Democrats should moderate or focus on economic vs identity issues is moot if the media is just going to report that they're doing SJW Shit irregardless

Looking at Chief O’Hara’s disciplinary decisions published in the last few weeks I was really happy to see that out of 16 allegations in 9 cases he sustained 14 of the CCPO recommendations. The two he overturned, one he lowered and one he decided that there was merit despite CCPO recommendations.

Ditto.
A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF
Insanity

Dr Katie Remington Cunningham said the police were skeptical at first but everyone she interviewed in the public safety ecosystem that had any interactions with BCR wanted more of it. Law enforcement wanted more support from BCR. It frees them up to do the calls only they can do.

Michelle Phillips, sociology prof at UMN who wrote “The Minneapolis Reckoning” said “the folks who interact with the behavioral crisis response team have glowing things to say”. BCR are emergency mental health response in leu of police response.
Think about how powerful that is.

Several of Ms Westbrook’s comments touch on the fact that most consent decrees fail to change the culture of police forces.

At the MN Justice Research Center conference today.
Arlinda Westbrook of ELEFA (consent decree overseer) just asked “how much is the police taking on that is not required?”
In my experience on the CCPO, very very little. They keep telling us they are out of compliance due to lack of resources.

How do you think Chief O'Hara is doing? Want to share those thoughts in his official job review? Please reach out to me.

According to Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges, officers started the three-day sting on Nov. 5. They used several methods to find people who were attempting to solicit a 17-year-old girl for sex.

The MPD recently published clearance rates. I think Minneapolis residents deserve to see these numbers every quarter or year. MPD closes far fewer cases in every category other than homicide than the national average.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!
