An INTENDED result of going after free speech is it scares people into being silent in a moment where we need everyone to be the loudest.

I can't and won't be silenced by men such as Elon Musk or Alex Cole Hamilton.

This isn’t about one party. It’s about the culture across politics that protects power and abusive people at the expense of everyone else.

If we want a safer, more honest politics in Scotland, we need transparency now. 4/5
Why it matters:

I’ve worked inside the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
I’ve seen how abuse was silenced and I've lived the cost of speaking up.

You deserve to know the truth before casting your vote. 3/5

I rejoined X ahead of #Holyrood26 but X has now labelled my account “malicious content.”

Ironic. I’m exposing how Scottish politicians covered up abuse.

Meanwhile, Musk spent the weekend sharing his own actual malicious video.

That tells you everything about whose voices are being silenced. 🧵 1/5

When are we going to talk about what you did to staff in 2019 and 2020? This for starters…

Willie Rennie MSP told me not to report a physical assault as “it wasn’t sexual.”

Staff who raised concerns were silenced with NDAs:

- £14,000 after reporting bullying by Sheila Ritchie
- £24,000 after detailing bullying by @Christine Jardine MP that led to a suicide attempt 2/7

The Lib Dems aren't harmless. Silence protects abuse.

True loyalty should be to fairness, equality, transparency and the voting public.

Instead, loyalty was demanded to people - no matter the cost. I'll say it again, this is complicity. 6/7
The cost?

Staff wept in meetings describing the abuse. Some left. Others attempted suicide.

I refused to stay silent and faced abuse, lies in the press, huge impacts on every aspect of my life. 5/7
Even colleagues who admitted privately that I was right refused to support me publicly. Some were later promoted or elected. Meanwhile, Willie Rennie MSP leaned on senior men in other parties, and editors in media, to make sure MSPs and journalists wouldn’t back me. 4/7
A staffer who raised child abuse concerns was silenced and bullied out of their job. This wasn’t loyalty. It was collusion - protecting the powerful and punishing the vulnerable. 3/7

Loyalty is meant to be a positive trait. But in the @scotlibdems.org.uk loyalty meant silence, cover-ups and collusion. Loyalty = complicity. 🧵 1/7
