Literally things are so terrible and it takes a lot to function and there’s a lot of fear. But I have a home with a lot of love: an angel of a spouse and two angel dogs. I couldn’t be more grateful to be battling from solid ground.
emilymgoldsmith.bsky.social
Their names are Felipe (lab mix) and Niko (Husky-German). Felipe will just come lay on your lap. Niko, however, wants occasional pets and then goes off to ponder the world.

I have two dogs and I love them! They are my buddies. They have strong personalities: one is a husky and German Shepherd who likes his space and one is a lab mix who is a clingy little snuggle bug. It helps my mental health so much to care for them! They’re just angels who live in my house.

The propaganda effort at CBS News has begun in full force.

There's this absurd hit piece saying his election would cause a large exodus at the NYPD.
A paused CBS News video features a close-up of a bearded man in a suit speaking outdoors. Video controls are visible over the image. The headline below reads about NYPD officers worrying about someone becoming the NYC mayor. The CBS News channel name and subscriber button appear at the bottom. A news video thumbnail on the Paramount+ website shows a close-up of a bearded man in a suit speaking outdoors, with blurred greenery in the background. Below the image is a headline about NYPD officers expressing concern over a potential NYC mayor. The Paramount+ logo and navigation menu appear at the top.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!

The University of Texas-Austin is beginning a process to eliminate the Black Studies, Latino Studies, and Gender Studies departments in the College of Liberal Arts. This is a grave threat to the educational liberty of students, faculty, staff, and the people of Texas. 1/

I used to think people just didn’t understand what Columbus did but now I think some are really attached to him (as opposed to other worthy italians to celebrate) because their whole thing is not only getting away with doing horrible things but forcing everyone to praise them for being horrible

FUCK ICE FOREVER
cmgiulini.bsky.social
After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.

oh we are absolutely not bringing back Lavender Marriages, what the fuck is wrong with folks. Also this couple looks like they waited until their wedding day to have their first kiss lol

No, WaPo, we are not doing a repeat of creating social pressure for gay people to get straight married, and no, it's not, "redefining what it means to be in a relationship."

Also, could that kiss in the thumbnail be any more awkward?
He’s gay. She’s straight. They’re happily married.
Meet the couples who are redefining what it means to be in a relationship, including those in gay-straight and same-sex platonic marriages.

Discussing this phenomenon w/ a group of profs. Someone morbidly joked, “& northern profs are fleeing the country.” The next person said…”even if we were all willing & able to abandon this place there are not enough jobs for us globally and the U.S. employs a huge # of international scholars too.”

Fuck Gavin Newsom. I will never vote for him and you shouldn't either.
Excerpt from an article discussing LGBT+ protections in California legislation. It states that Governor Newsom neither signed nor vetoed certain bills. One bill strengthened protections under Sen. Scott Wiener’s “State of Refuge” law. The highlighted portion reads: “At least four bills directly addressed trans protections,” followed by examples such as healthcare and patient confidentiality, streamlining legal name and gender changes, nondiscrimination in health insurance, and inclusive homelessness programs.

Our ancestors were called uncivilized because their connection to nature challenged the capitalist obsession with controlling land.

Police said that "family" was worried about her. But the only family member mentioned in the court records is her partner, who was arrested for abusing her and threatening her at gunpoint the day she took the pills, after which she left. He is the one who called the cops

This story is completely insane. After our first article, Flock and the police have aggressively asserted that the woman "was never under criminal investigation by Johnson County." Flock has used it as an example of "clickbait journalism" and its CEO has attacked the reporting multiple times

One of the things I took away from the 60s and Richard Nixon, first mentioned by Hunter Thompson, but I believe to be true, is the fact that we believed, at time, that all our protesting, marching and sign waving was futile and pointless when in fact, it drove Richard Nixon to alcohol fueled madness

Everyone is trying to have a normal Saturday night and the president's top advisor is on X announcing that civil war is necessary
@StephenM on X: Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide). This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.
