Their names are Felipe (lab mix) and Niko (Husky-German). Felipe will just come lay on your lap. Niko, however, wants occasional pets and then goes off to ponder the world.

Went to the West Baton Rouge Parish Museum to talk with the curator about a possible exhibit in 2027. Had a great conversation! Chatted with my friend (mô boug, mô kouzin) who works there.

One of the current exhibits is Jonathan Mayers, a Louisiana Creole artist. I love Mayers’ work!

I’m a Gulf Coaster, all the way. Born and raised in South Louisiana as a Louisiana Creole—the Gulf and the Mississippi River that feeds into it are part of our life and consciousness.

I use James Frey as an example of how not to be and what not to do when I teach non-fiction.

The fact that he’s trying to make a comeback now as a “victim of cancel culture” by writing a bad novel & somebody published it and gave him a tv deal? Despicable. White man can and do get away with murder.
