This is an exciting project, led by @nebulousflynn.bsky.social, to safeguard access to the UK’s digital 3D heritage at risk through over-reliance on commercial and free-to-use platforms for storage and dissemination. I'm happy to be serving on the advisory board and looking forward to discussions.
Wikimedia UK has been awarded a grant of £56,198 from National Lottery Heritage Fund towards our ‘UK Heritage 3D Data at Risk: Developing a Strategy for Long Term Access & Storage’ project. The grant will help ensure future access to the UK’s 3D heritage data.

Can confirm that Gemini 3 Pro can transcribe Césaire's handwriting like a specialist. I just fed it one of Césaire's most trash handwriting, and the only thing it missed was the name "Suzy." Damn. Even AI is all in to make Suzanne invisible. Lol. Cold.

Is this "we ain't buying it thing" picking up steam? I've already seen it a few places.
The Montgomery Bus boycott lasted 381 days.

We can certainly do just 5 days.

From November 27 - December 1 tell Target, Home Depot and Amazon #WeAintBuyingIt until they stop supporting this fascist regime.

Peace to Jimmy Cliff. Still play his stuff on loop. Today's soundtrack has been decided.

One of the few things I'm certain of about yesterday. History is not mechanistic. Weird openings matter immensely.
I have no idea what to make of the Trump-Mamdani meeting or the announcement from Marjorie Taylor Greene, but they should be a clear reminder of the importance of contingency in historical events.

Also, our Mayor-Elect just called out Israel's genocide, and US support for it, by name, in the Oval Office. With little push back.

Likely a first, under any president.

😂😂
Relationship counseling but just blind texting each other your semiotic and power analysis of Mamdani and Trump meeting to see if you’re compatible.

Of note: Bsky left response to the press conference leans positive, while FB left leans disgusted by the "sanewashing."

Just an observation. Don't know what to make of that either.
November 22, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Still not claiming to understand that meeting or press conference, but I can already distinguish a qualitative difference between your average Dem finding corporate common ground with fascists, and the one Mamdani used as leverage. Don't know what to make of it, but this is a different risk.

He stood next to evil and understood the assignment better than I can.

I need to understand, and I don't yet. We all know this peace won't last, and yet, there he was practical and steadfast.

I still can't believe the Democrats fell for that stupid red scare vote. Like, how dumb can you get. It boggles the mind.

No, House Democrats should not vote for a resolution that cynically conflates communism and socialism.

For one thing, don't give the GOP the power to define important terms. For another, pay attention to your voters. news.gallup.com/poll/694835/...

I get it, Mamdani. Delivering results is a win for socialism, and can have ramifications, and Ossé seems a bit rushed, but... I don't know... this Jeffries guy and these Democrats you need to collaborate with seem to be more ready to collaborate with fascists. Just saying.

Oh, neat. A handy list of useful idiots in the Democratic party.
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Did you know I'm the only Dominican faculty at Yale?*

*That I know of, or that Yale's Dominican Student Association knows of.

I'm with Chris on this.
The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

Few things bug me more than higher ed leaders saying that we lost our mission and lost the trust of the public, when we have actually been the target of a decades-long smear campaign by the right wing that worked. The moment we’re losing our mission is right now, in capitulation.
