I spoke w/ @npr.org's Here & Now about pronatalism. The conversation about low birth rates is really about creating a moral panic. Once folks are convinced that low rates cause major problems that can *only* be addressed through raising rates, it opens to door to all sorts of regressive policies.

A colleague asked whether I thought the government would continue the public release of its data products. The data from CDC health monitoring surveys, decades of data on mortality, crime data, climate data of a variety of types that go back for years, etc.

The first article from my dissertation on graduate education is out! I find that having parents with graduate degrees is associated with enrollment into doctoral education, but not master's education. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
