The Henley-style shirts worn by Bruce Lee in THE BIG BOSS were made by the Lee Kung Man Knitting Factory, which are still available and still made in Hong Kong.
Just something to consider if you’re in HK and looking for a unique souvenir.

I have finally conquered Fruit Merge (well, merged two watermelons) officially releasing me from the tyranny of playing this game every morning when I first wake up and every night right before I fall asleep. Sweet, sweet freedom!

Day two of runny nose and sore throat. Guess I will just have to spend the day drinking tea, reading books, taking hot baths, and watching movies. A terrible fate.

Thrilled to have a poem in @crowkeys.bsky.social!
There is a ghost in the tower. It doesn't do much. Just lingers, and watches. It has seen many things. It has even seen you. It has also seen this poem.

I’m looking for 100% Filipino people who are willing to submit a cheek swab test in hopes for a genetic match to my aunt, who is battling blood cancer. The registry for stem cells doesn’t have many Filipino people in it, and joining it could help many. Please share/reach out to me!

I feel like "academic hiring" discourse is always kind of downstream of the fact that in the 50s we started building a giant public system to make a college education almost universally available and in the 80s and 90s we started taking it apart to go back to the only-the-rich model

Reading The Peach Blossom Fan, eating a breakfast burrito, and contemplating ritual propriety as a public litmus test for the health of an empire, "reassuring the people," etc.

What a nerd. I love vacation.

Can confirm that last Sunday in the Louisville airport a high school volleyball championship's worth of tall teenagers were jostling in front of the Smashburger counter anxious to see which lucky kid was going to walk up to grab the six seven order.
I told my son that the Atlantic reported that the “six seven” phenomenon was over and my kid rolled his eyes and said, “respectfully, no kid is reading that magazine.”

We need your help! So far, we’ve raised $16,000 from 164 donors, which tells us that a lot of people understand the importance of this work. We train incarcerated writers and publish their stories. Our goal is to raise $50,000 by Dec. 31. Can you support our work?

Based on this post, I binge watched both seasons of Paatal Lok this week. I love a smart, gritty investigation and know less about India than I should, so I really enjoyed* this.

*My only caveat is that I was unprepared for the amount of casual face punching and slapping, incl by the detectives.
Day 12: A platonic relationship you loved. #EYDC2025 A shoutout to #PaatalLok, an excellent Hindi police procedural on Amazon Prime. The platonic relationship b/w Inspector Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) and newbie Ansari (Ishwak Singh) is easily the best I’ve seen all year.
