Happy Thanksgiving!

I ate the petals. This was a terrific idea.
November 27, 2025 at 6:17 PM
So kind! I hope you also have a wonderful day!
November 27, 2025 at 4:37 PM
Thank you! I'm very happy with the colors!

(Yes, chrysanthemum flowers are edible. No, I'm not sure I'm going to eat them. I might just nibble at the lemony raspberry bits. On the other hand, they surely can't be worse than shredded carrots, which someone, somewhere is eating in Jello today.)

The end.

Tada!

Please admire the most beautiful Thanksgiving jello salad I have ever made.

But wait, it gets better!

First I attempted to glaze cubed sweet potatoes with basil melon jam.

This was an excellent idea, but my technique is poor.

(My technique involves leaving potatoes on a gas stove on low flame while I watch Ang Lee's The Wedding Banquet on Tubi, only checking them during commercial breaks.)

I was tempted to try a Spanish omelette but maybe tomorrow.

So much fun! Thank you for bringing the amazing popcorn!
Kicked off Thanksgiving vacation watching some, erm, clearly classic holiday movies with a friend. A great way to start the long weekend!

Exactly!

Don’t listen to your jerk brain, listen to the universe!

You know what? I will rest easier tonight choosing to believe this guy is building furniture.

Do not like. (But would try.)

This is the most recent book I read that I really loved:
2025 Book #49
Here's to You, Jesusa!
(Hasta no verte Jesús mío)

by Elena Poniatowska
Translated by Deanna Heikkinen

Finished on a plane, this novel (and Jesusa) absolutely delighted me. A spitfire elderly woman pouring out the gossipy tales of life lived at 150% in 20th century Mexico. #booksky

As someone who also loves learning and will likely never get to go to grad school, I don't have a solution to your plight, but I wanted to say: I appreciate you. I'm glad you exist in the universe and here with us.

I hope a path finds you!
