i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid

Recently completed an online certificate program, and it reminded me I was rusty in some animation basics despite it being my field. So I decided to tackle animating my comic's protag Cinnamon today! Arm has some jank, but they're just tests for fun so 🤷

i usually tell artists I work with that it's always easier to edit something that's there than something that isn't

creatives get it in their heads that standard for skill means getting it right on the first round and think backtracking is weakness, but backtracking is literally the process
