I submitted a comic to hiveworks a few years ago that was picked up. The script was then picked over and over again over the span of a year and more without moving forward and I had to put my foot down to have things move forward.
The Hiveworks Artist Guild has released a public statement alleging years of labor abuses, financial mismanagement, and misconduct at Hiveworks at the hands of Xellette “Xel” Velamist and Isabelle “Isa” Melançon. Read their full statement at:

Im so so so sorry to be hounding for help over and over but this year is ending on a very rough note for me. Im short on bills, funds for transportation to doctor appt & a procedure next week, and grocery money. I know i keep asking for help. Im sorry, I really am. Things keep happening.
I have an art book for #tyreecomic ! It's 62 pages at $10! Not only does it have art but I have some brief guides into my page process as well. There is even stuff I havent released publicly in it! It's a great way to support me currently and get a glimpse into my obsession

Another thing I would add is that, especially online, you don't actually know your favorite artist as a person, you know curated bits and pieces. That picture you have in your head of them is always going to be a construction, and that's normal. But it is, at best, a fragment.
If ever there is a lesson to learn about artists you find out being absolute monsters to other people, and your first reaction is to feel conflicted because you 'liked their work', I deeply suggest avoiding putting ANYONE atop a pedastal. Yes, that means your favourite artist.

although many artists were treated worse, this is why the Kochab kickstarter took 6+ months longer to ship. Everything was ready to go, but they had taken my ks-raised shipping funds and spent it on unrelated things! 🙃
I also had to beg/nag for over a year to get my own share of the ks profit, lol
