Das Bild zeigt eine kleine Ente auf einer ruhigen Wasseroberfläche. Der Vogel schwimmt in der Mitte des Bildes und ist leicht nach links gerichtet, wobei sein Kopf nach unten geneigt ist, möglicherweise bei der Nahrungssuche oder Gefiederpflege. ​Der Vogel: Der Kopf des Tieres ist dunkel (wahrscheinlich schwarz oder dunkelbraun) mit einem deutlichen rötlich-kupferfarbenen Fleck am Kopf, was auf eine Männliche Pfeifente (Anas penelope) hindeuten könnte. Der restliche Körper, der über dem Wasser sichtbar ist, hat graublaue Federn. ​Das Wasser: Die Wasseroberfläche ist leicht gekräuselt und wirft konzentrische Kreise um den schwimmenden Vogel. Das Wasser reflektiert die Umgebung, wobei der obere Bildteil warme, braune und ockerfarbene Töne zeigt (spiegelnde Ufervegetation oder Bäume), während der untere Teil eher helle Blau- und Weißtöne (spiegelnder Himmel) aufweist. Die Reflexionen erzeugen einen abstrakten und malerischen Effekt. ​Die Belichtung scheint sonnig zu sein, was zu den hellen Reflexionen und dem deutlichen Farbkontrast zwischen dem dunklen Kopf der Ente und den hellen Wasserfarben beiträgt.

Happy (and cold) memories of a beautiful day in the Westfjords of #Iceland as mid-winter approached... Taken on this day in 2020.

Following the road, recently cleared of a major mud flow, into the Mecca Hills wilderness area.
This low mountain range in California’s Colorado desert, offers many trails and canyons to explore.
The canyons were formed by the San Andreas fault, some have multicolored layers.
