UK and Norway won nature's lottery in 1970 - found oil/gas in the North Sea.

UK squandered wealth, appeased corporations.

Norway levied 78% tax, took direct stake in companies.

Norway now has $1.8 trillion sovereign fund. UK has public finance crisis.

UK Govts still appeasing corporations/rich.
How sparsely populated Norway amassed $1.8 trillion | Fortune Europe
Launched in the early 1990s to invest mostly in bonds, the fund has grown to become the largest of its kind by acquiring small equity stakes in thousands of companies across the world.

What is it that people expect from deporting people?

Because it won't lower House prices or rents.
And it won't make food or energy cheaper.
There won't be more jobs and they certainly won't pay better.

At what point do you realise it is going to achieve nothing?

The BBC is the biggest thump of soft power the UK has and its reach and influence to the benefit of the country is extraordinary. Destroy it, hugely damage the UK. The same people who helped weaken us over Brexit are seeking to do it again.
Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

I'm old enough to remember when one of the main reasons for joining the Common Market was that it would make trade easier by doing away with all the red tape.
Do you remember how Brexit would offer the UK so many business opportunities by throwing off EU red-tape and creating great trade deals free of EU interference?
We still do most business with the EU, overloading ourselves with yet more red tape! Brilliant!

Here’s the £ to € rate 10 years on.🥳
