Heather Humphreys' attempt to deflect the stink of #SmearTheBejaysus by going on the attack is really quite the choice.

As of today, 10 October, the rules governing online political advertising in the EU have changed.

Listen to tech and democracy expert @lizcarolan.com explain how “malicious compliance” with these rules might make things even murkier:

Contrast this with the speech made by Micheal Martin at COP27, where he said:

"If this generation doesn’t step up urgently, future generations will not forgive us.

As leaders, it is our responsibility to drive the transformation necessary."

Time for a Halloween game I like to call... Whose IP Is It Anyway???
A baby in a Chucky outfit but the costume is labelled "Baby Bad Doll" A Pikachu onesie for a baby, except it's called "Electric Chinchilla" A Wednesday costume dubbed "Thursday" A "Phantom Hunter" costume that looks suspiciously like a Ghostbuster. I know who I'm gonna call...

Committee: "I'm worried that we're running out of ways to ignore women for the Nobel prize"

Wang: "Wait! Have we thought about the machines? What if we give *them* prizes?!"

Committee: "Wang you genius, you've done it. Go home and have your wife make you a sandwich, you deserve it"

Lol the Nobels can't even acknowledge women's contribution to discovery. But sure let's acknowledge The Machines.
Headline from an article in Nature this week that states "Prizes must recognize machine contributions to discovery. The future of science will be written by humans and machines together. Awards should reflect that reality."

Mr.Scisors is my fave. ✂️
A Joker costume dubbed "Mr. Smile" A men's costume consisting of a hockey jersey and (probably sold separately) a hockey stick and mask. It's a clear knock-off of Friday the 13th's Jason, but has been renamed "Jazz Dead" for some bizarre reason. A Freddy Krueger costume dupe called "Mr.Scisors" (despite apparently not including any semblance of Freddy's bladed glove). A "Crazy Harlequin" costume that has no resemblance to a jester-like commedia dell'arte character but a striking likeness to Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn from the Suicide Squad film series, although her raglan rip-off says "Dangerous Girl" and not "Daddy's Lil Monster".

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

I write full time largely because of one thread about getting high with the Irish president. As cringe as it is to admit, my entire life has been massively enhanced by Twitter and ketamine over precisely the same time that those two things have proven less beneficial for Elon Musk.

disappointed to learn that Borgo is just a restaurant and not some kind of hallucinatory concept that I would have gotten a lot of mileage out of characterising.

Someone at the IT is having a 'mare rushing out the Budget coverage.

This was a sponsored post in my Insta Stories.

The social team needs a break and a hug maybe.
A post from Instagram stories with a swipe up link for the Irish Times. A composite image of Leinster House, Jack Chambers and Paschal Donohoe is titled "Budget 2026: Main Points" but the bullet points that follow comprise non-sensical filler text (Lorem ipsum) and snippets apparently borrowed from a restaurant review (One point reads: "Borgo review: Well-priced and welcoming", the next "everything a good neighborhood", and finally "restaurant needsLorem ipsum dolor sit amet")
