I agree with this. Assimilation is a fallacy. Every wave of immigration to the US has been tarred with the trope that they wouldn't assimilate. Instead, the new arrivals have found a way to succeed and our country has found a way to accommodate them. See e.g., bagels, Italian food, Irish pubs, etc.
The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Please do not inundate your immigration lawyer with emails this holiday weekend. This isn't borne out in specific policies or actions, yet. We are not working this weekend, and we don't know what this might mean for you individually.

Today, I am thankful for the ability to travel: for my son to study abroad and for us to have the means and ability to visit him. I don't take that mobility for granted, esp not in these times. May you all have a peaceful & meaningful Thanksgiving. 🦃

I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

Just saw this today. This is a transparent attempt to KILL DUE PROCESS by lying about the job of immigration judge and stacking the deck through hiring only bloodthirsty lawyers who want to deport people.
This comes after they pushed out over 100 judges deemed too likely to grant relief.

Lots of kids have been staying home in Memphis too. White parents have been driving Latino kids to school so they and/or their parents won't be targets while walking.
