Tips for getting me to follow you back (if I haven't already):
1. Introduce yourself
2. Remove emojis from your display name (bonus points for making it encodable in 7-bit ASCII)
3. Make good posts
4. Make sure none of the custom labelers I subscribe to label you as sus
5. Use alt-text on images

Found an uncovered storm drain with open access to the sewers... I wonder if they have a cask of Amontillado down there...

Members of the House can introduce Articles of Impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

These hearings should be impeachment hearings.
BREAKING:

Republican-led House and Senate committees say they will amplify their scrutiny of the Pentagon after a WaPo report revealing that Pete Hegseth gave a spoken order to kill all crew members aboard a vessel suspected of smuggling drugs in the Caribbean several weeks ago.

This is why I think the language around regulation needs to be about "regulatory design" and "reregulation" rather than the one-dimensional spectrum implied by "deregulation." We're not deregulating anything; we're marketcrafting to achieve certain objectives.
The people in my replies explaining that actually some regulations are over broad and small businesses need help to navigate them and so this is a left-wing position. Yes! Good!

OK fine I'll make the criticism: size of business is not what matters, but rather structure. Policy should give preference to businesses not based on whether they are large or small, but rather based on whether they are cooperatives or not.
Honestly it's funny that he is *quite literally* saying "deregulate and reduce the burden of taxation on business to create jobs" and nobody on the left will criticise him. Good.
Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:

unironically Labour needs to be taking notes on policy from Mamdani instead of Blue Labour's socially conservative statist corporatism

New Hampshire and the United States must fully commit to disability inclusion • New Hampshire Bulletin
The New Hampshire Bulletin’s three-part series, by William Skipworth, on our state’s disability residential services system is painful to read.

Mine would have: no "bare" parking lots, i.e., all parking lots need to have SOMETHING (solar panels, a building, tree cover, pedestrian walkways, a canopy of vines) above them. Nudity should be reserved for humans, not asphalt!
My zoning code would only have two rules: glass tower skyscrapers should be adjacent from stonework ornamented ones to maximize cool reflections and there should be a Jamba Juice in every airport terminal. Otherwise, build whatever you want.

We’re closely monitoring the situation, and we will keep working with our partners in government to ensure that New Yorkers know their rights, including those arrested today.

While Trump demands a total shutdown on immigration for poor countries, Pope Leo XIV stands in Istanbul lifting up the “little ones” — refugees, migrants, outsiders.

One calls for exclusion, the other for radical welcome.

Here’s how Leo flipped the script on American power and greatness.

The first American pope uses his first overseas trip to defend migrants — even as MAGA pushes for a total shutdown of migration back home.

Exactly. The operator isn't getting an order to "kill these drowning men," they're being told "strike grid coordinates XYZ"

The people who *know* need to be held accountable, and that's pretty senior.
Someone made the point - I think Adam Kinzinger - that the problem is it’s one thing to refuse to murder someone if ordered. It’s another to refuse an order where you yourself don’t have the full context and couldn’t possibly - but someone above you does/did
