The mantra "Secure your mask before helping others" saved my life, and with that you also learn to remind yourself that you are valid. People often say "Your selfish" when you care for yourself, but the reality is, their selfish for expecting you not to.

This is powerful and very true. I do say it in my life but so many don't. I think the companion to this is self care. We think that we are being humble, othering ourselves for the agendas of others, and so we are never pursuing our own. We need to say "no" and prioritize ourselves.

So our dog is like sixteen. She's really happy and playful so you'd never know she was that old except on days like today when her joints are bad. The orange mook seems to know this, so he is over there sleeping beside her keeping watch. It's too goddamn precious.😲😳🥺🥹😭😭😭😭
