As an author, I’ve already gotten multiple emails from people asking me for fake articles and books that I’ve supposedly written, because chatbots have told them fake references. I *cannot imagine* the frustration and time waste for librarians and especially ILL library professionals right now.

As I’ve said, A.I. isn’t going to destroy humanity by taking over Strategic Command and launching nukes, but by drowning us in bullshit.

This was the moment I stopped believing in the American government. I think this might be true of many people my age.
🇺🇸 On this day 25 years ago, The Conservative Supreme Court handed George W. Bush the 2000 presidential election.
A heartbroken Al Gore graciously conceded, and delivered a passionate call for national unity.

🇺🇸 Just 20 years later, Donald J. Trump lost by 7 million votes and attacked our country.

This must be both literal and metaphorical.

The Trump administration is a criminal organization.
It is important to promise, now, that whatever Trump builds at the White House will be torn down as soon as he leaves.

One thing that social media does really well, is it’s populated by a bunch of people with relatively kick butt investigative skills and a desire to point out the BS when they see it! The Iowa house!
I was right. It was a meth lab. Its on the dea's clandestine lab registry. Incident august 4th, 2004. Has probably been abandoned for the last 20 years.

Gonna be going to the girl guiding protest in London to do some live reporting.

Should be interesting to see.

One thing I learnt from my scout leader parents is that guide leaders and scout leaders can organise really bloody well.

My internal monologue right now, “How can I comment about what’s been done to this woman and her child (by family for crying out loud), without using bad language? Because, saying that Caroline Levitt is a real piece of work, and s clearly not sufficient!”

The Cory Mills story has so many layers. How does a sitting member of Congress also own an arms export business while sitting on committees overseeing that business? And that’s just a piece of the money part of this…

It's a terrible disease.
A few weeks ago, my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I won’t lie—it's been incredibly challenging for me and my family.

Now, I’m embarking on a journey to answer the questions so many of us face when it comes to providing care for our loved ones.

One positive thing about this is it also shows how much power individuals do still have

Along the way good people said no and that created a history of records and maybe consequences
It's hard to know exactly what will happen now, given how unprecedented this is. But Trump and Miller envisioned this as a test of their ability to spread fear of lawless state terror. For now, the lower courts are admirably defending the rule of law. 5/5

They are clearly trying

Journal editors, please by default make sure you are extending review times in the month of December. Asking reviewers to return comments in 7-10d does not take into consideration the competing demands on reviewer's time at year's end. Especially given that the task of reviewing is fee labor.

In a world of sellouts be like Robin!

I think of Sinead's words, "the job of an artist is to be themselves at any cost".
James Baldwin said prejudice was really just a word for cowardice.
Audre Lorde, viewing her life, wrote that her only regrets were her silences.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.
