The 2009 swine flu pandemic showed me how devastating and deadly #influenza can be. I still tell those stories today when I discuss arming our immune systems with updated flu shots.
#vaccinessavelives
2. #CDC reports that of the kids who died who were eligible for vaccine (ie 6 months & older) & for from vaccination status is know, 89% hadn't been vaxed for the 2024-25 season.
There was vaccine available. In 2009, during the pandemic, vaccine became available as the major wave subsided.

Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

By defying the Supreme Court’s order to return Abrego Garcia from El Salvador, Trump is laying the groundwork to do the same to U.S. citizens.

Now is the time to speak out — before there is no one left to speak.

We are on a path towards dictatorship.
It will be my first time, and the program is overwhelming! Any tips for first-timers?

They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.

The lesson of today is: Never let impostor syndrome hold you back. There's almost no way you're actually less competent than some of the people in charge.
California has a population of 40 million, and is the 5th largest economy in the world, and we have 2 senators. I have been complaining about this for a long time, because it’s not just about the Senate, it’s also the Judiciary.

I think about this all the time. Projects at home and at work, the advocacy issues I was looking ahead to in 2016 and again in 2024, only to be back to fighting to preserve basics like health care coverage, public health institutions, scientific funding, etc. So much time and energy spent.
I don't know if there is an official one! But I felt the need to tweet, so finally posted my first bsky. Is there a verb form of bsky???

Medicaid covers...

-40% of births nationwide
-50% of kids with special needs
-72 million people in total

Remember this as Republicans move to gut the program to finance tax cuts that will overwhelmingly go to the richest 1% of Americans.

You have “good insurance” through your job?
Well your pediatrician’s office could fold and the [oncologist, neonatologist, critical care, pediatric surgeon, pulmonologist, infectious diseases, nephrologist, etc] that your child needs may not be there anymore when half their payment base collapses.
