New blog post, about a man who had a uniquely eventful decade between 1914 and 1923: "The many armies of Patrick Barnes"

Construction began a few weeks ago on 1,100 apartments across the road from us, literally next door to Parkwest & Cherry Orchard Station. Access to a more frequent connection to Heuston than the current Irish Rail service was always gonna be a key selling feature. Ooops.
DART+ South West is shelved until 2030. It has full planning approval since 2024, no judicial reviews and is ready to go but construction won't start until after 2030. A lot of housing around Adamstown and Clonburris built in anticipation of this upgrade.

Wee bump for this. New blog post coming this Saturday, about a man who, in under a decade, uniquely went from the Western Front to the Easter Rising to the Pogrom to the anti-Treaty IRA to the National Army to the Argenta. Oh, and he also ran in an election. "The many armies of Patrick Barnes."

The only reason to name an airport is if there’s more than one serving the same city. JFK, Gatwick, CDG etc.

Anything else is notions

Signed up for the HSE Bowel Screening Programme a while back. Definitely recommend it: (a) it's free (b) realistically, who else in this world is gonna tell you, backed by the rigour of science and laboratory testing, "Your shite is squeaky-clean?"

Contacted a friend to go for a drink the other day, he couldn't as he had an operation for cancer a month ago and is undergoing chemo.
He went to the doctor for something different, and a test showed he had cancer.
Get yourselves checked out regularly.❤️

Not quite "Being on ketamine with the Uachtarán" but worth a read
It's time for everyone's favorite chronologically unanchored holiday, The Story of the Lizard in the Leg.
Because people keep asking, the Story of The Lizard In That Dude's Leg. Some caveats:

1. This happened more than twenty years ago. There are no pictures. There was a small article in a local paper with, again, no pictures (I'm assuming that's what the producers of 9-1-1: LONE STAR found).

Gardaí announce they can't find Burke but are still looking. Burke keeps hiding. Gardaí quietly stop looking but don't announce anything. Burke keeps hiding. Job done.
Gardaí have been unable to locate Enoch Burke after twice calling to his house yesterday to imprison him for contempt of court.

A High Court judge ordered the former teacher's return to prison on Tuesday.

I'm guessing Tesco Newcastle has never heard of Dunnes Stores Henry Street, but they soon will
When a business doesn't know the history of the country they're in and picks a fight with the workers, it's not a great idea.
Do it in Ireland, lads?
You're fucked.

Really really long shot: does anyone have access to a 1921/1922 Belfast Street Directory? Looking for a business named Emersons, maybe a shop or pub, in Clonard/Cupar St/Springfield Rd area.
