It’s a beautiful place. It has been there since 1740. Before both the French and Indian war and the American Revolution. #RhodeIsland

Please share and boost! Tomaquag Museum (one of my favorite museum/visits of all time) had over $2mil in approved Fed grants halted and are facing layoffs and stalled work that will affect so much of their mission. They’re asking for donations and we can step up to help.

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

Someone should start asking why we’re hearing and seeing Stephen Miller so much all of a sudden.

One thing that comes through awfully clearly in these ICE videos is how many of these goons gravitated toward the job because being able to assault people with impunity is a big thrill for them.

Then why are you pushing to integrate AI in schools? It’s anti-critical thinking.

I am on the recovery side of #Covid thanks to #Paxlovid. The delay in approving the latest vax seriously affected my health. #Anti-vaxxers are the bottom feeders for intellect, and #JFKjr really wants citizens to die.

Just a random person so appreciative of your defense of democracy.

You’re right. Into everything! My biggest concern is it is forced on those who don’t have the agency to not use it

K-12 teachers using AI to produce lesson plans that may be riddled with errors is a terrible next step from what’s been happening for the last two decades, which is a turn away from subject content expertise to tech expertise and a constant chasing of pedagogical fads.
lutzfernandez.bsky.social
Now think about what it’s doing to our children that some teachers are relying on it to develop lesson plans that no one is fact- or bias-checking.

Actual science here. Not bullet points out of context. “Solved Autism.” 🤯
They will “solve” cancer next by denying MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds, etc.

“Acetaminophen use during pregnancy was not associated with children’s risk of autism…”

“It lacks the humility to acknowledge uncertainty.” Up to 48% of the time, models are hallucinating. WHY is there an insistence on integrating in schools?!

“'Like students facing hard exam questions, large language models sometimes guess when uncertain, producing plausible yet incorrect statements instead of admitting uncertainty,' the researchers wrote in the paper. 'Such ‘hallucinations’ persist even in state-of-the-art systems and undermine trust.'”
OpenAI admits AI hallucinations are mathematically inevitable, not just engineering flaws
In a landmark study, OpenAI researchers reveal that large language models will always produce plausible but false outputs, even with perfect data, due to fundamental statistical and computational limi...

This is not partisan politics. It is the Republican agenda: Racism.

It’s all on purpose. Those with the least connectivity-Black, Latino and indigenous Americans, people with disabilities, underserved, and the elderly-have no importance to this administration. #DigitalRedlining is just another form of oppression.

"Harvard can't use race as a factor in admissions, but ICE can use race as a factor in detentions" is a retrenchment essentially to a pre-Civil War understanding of the Constitution. It's vanishingly few steps removed from "Latinos have no rights which the white man is bound to respect."
