Perfect Tom Stoppard story from DTel obituary:

His response to a letter from Harold Pinter canvassing support for a proposal to have the Comedy Theatre in London rechristened the Pinter Theatre, “Have you thought, instead, of changing your name to Harold Comedy?”

I’ve seen enough rom-coms to know that Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana get married in the end.

Perhaps a lot of people in the ‘squeezed middle’ would accept higher taxes for improved services. However when massive asset wealth, held onto by the ‘unsqueezed top’ is not taxed fairly, it becomes a problem for most people, and any political party not tackling the issue.

The people to tax are all those that promoted Brexit. There should be an extra tax levied on every Tory that voted Brexit, every UKIP or ex-UKIP politician, every personality that pushed for it - the Dysons, Bothams, Bruce Dickinsons, Daltreys etc.; every pro-Brexit journalist. Tax them all!

Samir Shah needs to work on the cut of his no-doubt expensive suit. Terrible shape when sitting down.

Is there any turn available that might add diversity to British newspaper publishing? I don’t expect The Torygraph to not be owned by a bastard or bastards, but in any functional democracy, this narrow ownership, with the dominance of Murdoch, Paul Marshall, DMG etc. is nuts.

Without asylum:

Marks and Spencer wouldn't exist

Queen would have been without a front man

The other queen wouldn't have had a husband

Judith Kerr would never have written The Tiger Who Came to Tea

And thousands of less famous people wouldn't have been teachers, politicians, neighbours, etc

Apparently the next ‘Budgie the Helicopter’ book has been pulled. Not sure if it’s because Sarah Ferguson’s stock has been reduced by her involvement with Epstein or because of the title: ‘Budgie Transports a Selection of Multi-Millionaires to Nonce Island’.

In the UK, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's friendship with Epstein has led to total disgrace.

He's been stripped of his titles, reduced to the status of a pariah.

Nobody is defending him.

He's a TOTAL disgrace.

In America, Jeffrey Epstein's close mate, Donald Trump, remains the president.

Insane.

I DEMAND Panorama IMMEDIATELY produces a documentary showing Kamala Harris not instigating a violent riot, not sexually assaulting anyone, or getting fined for denying it, or being found guilty of business fraud, or f*cking a porn star AND accepting the result of an election.
You know. For balance.

Matt Goodwin has more chips on his shoulder than a carpenter caught in a frites spillage. The very essence of dull, unoriginal, utterly inconsequential little man. You can only pity the boneheads who hero worship such an absolute nonentity. #bbcqt

Really struck today by how many of the people most responsible for the Brexit shitshow were actively rewarded for their stupidity/dishonesty. Knighthoods, Damehoods, peerages, newspaper columns, seats in the House of Commons… It’s a mark of how deep the rot has gone into the fabric of our society.

Elon Musk’s attack on Keir Starmer’s government is an attack on all of us.

The Labour government is a democratically elected government. HM Official Opposition (Conservative Party) is refusing to stand by our elected government & has chosen to support a far right foreign plutocrat.

Never forget.
