really hate that MS Teams censors the word 'homo' in its transcripts, and I would love to know what other words it deems "profane"

(this is again coming to you from talking with researchers about human evolution 🙃)
A screen grab of a transcript that reads "they're all in **** longi" in which the word 'homo' has been censored.

It's not a question. It could be considered criminal damage but who exactly is supposed to be terrorised by this? Monbiot's article is very good on this www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... but even Cooper didn't claim that the spray paint was terrorism it was some other thing they were "going" to do
Palestine Action isn’t a danger to British democracy – but Yvette Cooper is | George Monbiot
The home secretary is apparently an admirer of the suffragettes. I have no doubt that if they were active today she would proscribe them, too, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

There are laws for that. Not one of them mentions terrorism.

This was a military base. I'm sure the expensive planes were supposed to be guarded. They should actually have thanked PA for showing the holes in their security.

Normal definition of terrorism: threat to life and liberty

Cooper's definition: embarrasses the govt's support for genocide.

Cooper sadly lost the evidence down the back of the sofa, it being so secret that no-one else could see it and all that. So secret it had to be invisible & so easy to lose.

The frogs shall come up on you and on your people and on all your officials."

Funny how whenever it's someone on the right it's due to their race or ethnicity but when it's someone on the left being criticised, that has nothing to do with it. Can't imagine how this could come about.

As another Jewish woman in the industry, I can clear this up: It's due to her being an asshole.

Fox News host Emily Compagno claims that the backlash to Bari Weiss being named CBS News editor-in-chief is due to her being Jewish:

"This kind of thing would make me laugh if there was not an antisemitic thread in there."

ICE is randomly targeting peaceful protesters because the point is to terrorize the public into accepting martial law.

Indiscriminate attacks send the message that there’s nothing you can do to stay safe.

The regime wants you to cower at home and cede the streets of your city to their control.

A law that discriminates against me on the mindlessly thick idea that I'm a BiOLoGicAL mALe is a law that disregards reality in favour of infantile, anti-science, far right ideology.

It's Taliban stuff. Uneducated, ignorant stupidity. This is a shameful, embarrassing, depressingly backward country.

I would also suspect that breathless media amplification of transphobic claims mate by politicians isn't exactly helping. Healthcare professionals are likely expecting guidance to change but but exactly sure how.

Just got a call from a lovely but very nervous Dr, who advised I wouldn't be routinely screened for breast cancer because I'm not indicated as being "biologically female" on the central NHS database and my biology wouldn't indicate I'm at risk.

My records have been altered, which is upsetting.
dralexanderhope.bsky.social
Um, if you've been on hrt for ages and have breasts then you should be screened for breast cancer, no other details needed. This is completely insane and obviously the opposite of evidence based care.

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.

Well it's clear that the govt of former human rights lawyer Keir Starmer is intent on rolling back human rights across the board.

The trans bashing provides no political benefits except to bigots who'd never vote for them anyway.

It's pretty despicable really.

Quite a bodying, here, for the UK, from the Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe.

🏮 He points out the Supreme Court ignored human rights (which breaches its legal obligations)
🏮 He says, in effect agreeing with Lucy Powell, Parliament should be involved...

Evidently. Perhaps a more practical approach would be to identify as many as possible and match them with outstanding warrants, or probation conditions they may have violated.

⚠️ Important to note…

The rich elite want us to LEAVE the ECHR - as it imposes laws on treating people well - which makes it more expensive for employers who want bigger profits by cutting employee protections & rights.

It’s NOT about ‘free speech’, ‘sovereignty’, ‘small boats’ or ‘bathrooms’!
mimmymum.bsky.social
Hey Kier Starmer and Bridget Philipson - if the current EHRC guidance continues into policy, the UK will be on a collision course with the ECtHR

This will be weaponised by the far right as a reason to leave the ECtHR - when 82% of Labour voters want Britain to stay!

Wait until they're off duty, bundle them into the back of van and don't tell anyone where they are so they can't consult a lawyer? Seems proportional.

Ok so the rule of law has to apply to everyone, even ice thugs.
