On this day in 1994, the BC Lions defeated the Baltimore Football Club to win the Grey Cup.
This was the first Grey Cup to feature a United States-vs-Canada matchup.
The Lions won the game 26-23 thanks to a field goal by Lui Passaglia.

On this day in 1994, the BC Lions defeated the Baltimore Football Club to win the Grey Cup.
This was the first Grey Cup to feature a United States-vs-Canada matchup.
The Lions won the game 26-23 thanks to a field goal by Lui Passaglia.

On this day in 1991, the Toronto Argonauts won the Grey Cup. At the time, John Candy was the co-owner of the Argos with Bruce McNall and Wayne Gretzky. Despite this, his name was not added to the Grey Cup until 2007. Only McNall's name was engraved on the trophy initially.

For Big Game week between Cal and Stanford I tracked down the anonymous Oski and Stanford Tree who got into a nationally televised brawl on ESPN 30 years ago that required police intervention. The untold story involves 18 beers, suspensions & lots of blood.

WINNIPEG! You did put the "friendly" in "friendly Manitoba". I had an incredible time at #greycupfestival this year. Met up with people I haven't seen in a while, and made new friends while I was at it. I hope that I am able to return next season for the game experience!
