I am eternally so fascinated by how in both the Danish and English narrative folk ballad tradition female protagonists loving their children just isn't a given at all. And when they don't it's very rarely treated as any kind of moral violation provided they stop short of actually murdering them

Finally watching Severance. Would have watched it much sooner if I had been aware that, in terms of ambiance, it was going to completely eschew all dystopia/cyberpunk cliches in favor of just being so incredibly strange

Continuing w I, Claudius. I don't love the crip drag of it all (and not just for representation reasons, you can tell Derek Jacobi doesn't actually have tics or a stutter and it IS distracting) but it is kind of rewarding to watch a show whose protagonist has the exact same tics I used to have ngl!
