this white house actively treats a large swath of americans as disloyal and outside the political community and it doesn’t merit so much as a peep from the political press

Unfortunately, I think we’re going to start seeing more of the residual effects of the 80s/90s Japanese game dev work culture (LOTS of smoking, long hours/office sleeping, heavy drinking after work) hitting in tragic ways within the next decade or so…

There is an actual life-changing conflict between WFH being cheaper and more efficient, an entire layer of middle managers who need to have meetings to feel alive, and the commercial real estate cabal that runs all cities. It’s going to get so fucking weird.
remote work is like birth control or UBI atp where there’s overwhelming research consensus they improve quality of life for people they apply to, yet access is impeded or blocked by the ruling class because the thought of marginalized ppl having rich full lives makes steam come out their ears
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.

After an incredible 37 year career, on October 1st, Dan Forden (1/4 of the original Mortal Kombat team) began his well earned retirement. I cannot overstate the impact Dan has made on pinball, videogames, NetherRealm & especially Mortal Kombat.

A company with decades of single-player experience pivoting to multiplayer? Well, it worked for Anthem, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, FBC: Firebreak, Redfall, Marvel's Avengers, and all those PlayStation games
Quantic Dream announces they are developing a competitive multiplayer game

Star Wars: Eclipse development still continues

blog.quanticdream.com/writing-a-ne...
For over 28 years, Quantic Dream has been pushing the boundaries of interactive storytelling. With award-winning titles like Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human, more than 25 million players worldwide have shared the journeys of Ethan Mars, Jodie Holmes, Kara, Markus and Connor, with us.

Since 2018, we have entered a new phase of growth and innovation. We doubled the size of the team, bringing together talents from all over the world united by the same passion for creativity. We opened a new studio in Montreal, moved into new headquarters in Paris, built the next generation of our proprietary technology, and became our own publisher.

After years as a single-project studio, we also decided to take a new step. Multiple teams are fully dedicated to crafting the next generation of great games, including something very different, a competitive multiplayer experience, born from the same spirit of curiosity and creativity that has always defined us.

This new title may surprise our fans as it is very different from what we have done so far. But taking risks, challenging ourselves, exploring new ways of playing and telling stories, and attempting what seems impossible, has always been part of our DNA.

We also know how demanding it is to create something new. Earning the trust of players, standing out in such a competitive space, and introducing fresh concepts is incredibly challenging. And since we have no legacy in this genre, we know we have everything to prove — which is why your support and feedback will be essential. Together, we believe we can create something truly unique.

Of course, development of Star Wars: Eclipse continues, and we are eager to share more with you in the future.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our fans around the world for playing our games year after year, for their kind words whenever we meet, for their patience and encouragement.
Doesn't feel like it was that long ago when John Fetterman was talking about the need for then-new Democratic senators to not be like Sinema and Manchin, but he's really settled into becoming that. thehill.com/homenews/sen...

Kudos to Arc System Works and Bandai Namco for listening to the fans who complained that Dragon Ball FighterZ wasn't lore accurate. And here I thought the game was toned down with the recent patches. kotaku.com/dragon-ball-...

I should have known there was a good reason why this site went down earlier, even though the developments on the X-bird platform aren't *too* surprising considering who's running the asylum.

Long story short, an actual Nazi doxxing ring. Enough people reported them that they went away for like 12 hours and then Elon personally brought them back. The site is dead. If you’re still on there, go lock your account right now

The Castle of Cagliostro steelbook is going for a higher price than I expected, but I'll make sure to get it eventually. Regardless of it being a Crunchyroll exclusive, I wouldn't be surprised if this sells quickly. store.crunchyroll.com/products/lup...

I knew the Xbox Rog Ally wasn't a portable Xbox because I've been following the marketing and info drop, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gave off the wrong impression for some. Not the "general market" considering the price, but other people will be in for a nasty surprise.
