This week, MAGA figures claimed Kristi Noem "stared down" violent antifa protesters in Portland. Turns out they were talking mostly about a guy in a chicken suit.

Many perceive Machado's pick as flattering to Trump without giving him the prize, since she has publicly praised him many times before.

At the same time her politics broadly support the mainstream Western economic order (market capitalism, private ownership) - which lines up with past Nobel picks.

Remember: just because someone wins a Nobel peace prize, that doesn't mean they're a saint.

Machado is a pragmatic activist that praises Trump and vocally supports Israel.

With how focused on privatization, neo-liberalism, and international intervention Machado is, it's hard to fully trust her.

Having a bit of travel posting more than three images right now, so I'm omitting the prompt list - but you can check it out on my past posts or over on Instagram :)

3 loaded hotdogs, with the central one covered in relish and onions and replaced with a photoshopped head of a blushing naked rat. The bottom half of the "rat dog" is comically pixelated out. A clamshell is also photoshopped into the image. The joke is that this rat was named Geoduck, and he is depicted like a gooey duck with his Shell taken off.

Israel has exhausted their political and social capital on the global stage and wants to reclaim the narrative. Trump wants a peace prize. This deal is mainly about those two interests.

I hope this prevents further death, but totally ending occupation is the only way to free Palestinians.

Trump is hoping to win his peace prize tomorrow while Israel considers which recycled excuse they'll give to violate the agreement and continue eroding Palestinian livelihood and existence.

In the last two years, Gaza has been essentially destroyed. The US facilitated this horror.

As a frequent vet-goer I feel your pain. We were on the way to the vet the other week, when one of the rats got so excited I opened the cage she fell out of a hammock onto her neck - so she got to come for an ER visit as well 😬

I'm going to start cross-posting some of my favorite daily sketches from Cara, I like Bluesky and want to keep contrituting over here!

This was inspired by “If I Must Die", written by Refaat Alareer, who was murdered by Israel in Gaza alongside his siblings and their children on December 6, 2023.

The 'left' they rail against is an invention of their own propaganda with almost no bearing on reality except that it maps onto anyone that doesn't enthusiastically assist with their agenda.

Even if they really did 'eradicate the left', they'd just call all new opposition 'the left' and keep going.
