Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a
large group page that was being used to dox and target
@lCEgov
in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and
social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing
their jobs. The Departrnent of Justice will continue engaging tech
companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent
violence against federal law enforcernent.

Fun Fact: During Operation Bagration, Hitler traveled to Finland on Mannerheim's birthday to beg him to launch an attack to slow down the Soviets.

Mannerheim told him that actually he was in the midst of negotiating a separate peace, to which Hitler said "Understandable, nevermind." and went home.

The Finns did also side with Hitler during the Continuation War, but the extent of their participation was accepting a boatload of military aid and advancing to their pre-Winter War borders before digging in and refusing to do anything else for the entire rest of the war.

Italy was unified by northerners with the assisstance of the French, and has historically neglected the south as a result. 5 star exists to air that particular grievance and comes off as "non-partisan" or "centrist" because that grievance isn't really a left/right issue.

Actually the 5 star party makes perfect sense if you compare a map of its support base against a map of pre-unification Italy. More or less a 1:1 for the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.

Most of my knowledge of this is anecdotal, from talking to family members and friends of those family members who were all WW2 navy veterans, all from the Northeast. They all remembered serving in combat with African-American sailors and supported the civil rights movement because of it.

And for what it's worth, serving in the same army together did help eliminate the racial prejudices of a lot of white Northerners, who finally had a source of information about African-Americans that did not come from the segregationists.
