There's about 5-6 million Finnish speakers in the world...which is not a lot compared to many other languages...and which is a lot compare to some languages about to go extinct...So. It's joyful. It's flattering, hearing a foreigner speak the language which is Not Heard anywhere.

The pronunciation is very much Not All There, but, honestly? Finnish people LOVE IT MADLY when someone, anyone, even makes the *effort* to try and talk in Finnish. It doesn't matter if it's wrong, if it sucks, we're just So Happily Surprised that you're even making the effort to TRY.
