Today’s Jesmond charity shop pick ups. I’ve been on the lookout for Crocodile Dundee for yonks, having been subjected to the ‘cut to ribbons’ tv edits in recent years. Never turns up, so that was a good find.

Elanga needs to practice with Bruno 24/7 until it’s second nature. That’s two very similar, perfectly timed runs/balls this last week for Brazil. Miggy tuned in to his wavelength quite quickly (that run from Fulham a) but didn’t have the next level pace to nail some of the stuff Bruno offered him.

Another nice find this afternoon is an excellent WSC photobook covering USA 84. This is exactly how I’d do such a coffee table book now (paging @dannylast.bsky.social). Some incredible images and it’s all film, of course. I’ve a LOT of WSC back issues in boxes too. May be an entire run from 80s.

Part of that long run of England stickers ruining entire collections due to licensing issues. No Owen or Beckham I can get, they were very young, but I’m guessing Shearer’s injury was still a concern when the photo call came around.

Now, that’s strange enough. However, the only reason the book is incomplete is not down to some random stickers here and there, it’s because the ENTIRE Spain and Iran pages have been left blank. Every other team is totally full. Must have been some particularly petty anti-Spanish/Iranian collector.

An almost continuous stream of Barnacle Geese over Aln Estuary, and I gather along the whole of the Northumberland coast this morning. We generally don’t get this sort of opportunity to see these wonderful travellers from Svalbard close up in this sort of number very often. Quite a thrill.
