„Was heißt hier Staatsräson?“ Mein Vortrag, den das Jüdische Museum Berlin kurzfristig aus seinen Räumen verbannt hat, ist jetzt in voller Länge bei Youtube zu finden.
Ich hatte die Ehre, die Willy Brandt Lecture 2025 zu halten, und habe über den Mythos gesprochen, Deutschland sei wegen seiner Vergangenheit „unfrei“ im Umgang mit Israel.
Das Jüdische Museum Berlin sollte eigentlich der Veranstaltungsort für diese Lecture sein, eine Veranstaltung der bundeseigenen Bundeskanzler-Willy-Brandt-Stiftung, die den Nachlass Brandts verwaltet. Frühere Redner:innen waren u.a. Fritz Stern, Naomi Klein, Adam Tooze.
Die Wahl des Themas war mir freigestellt, und als das Jüdische Museum gehört hat, worüber mein Vortrag gehen würde, hat die Museumschefin Hetty Berg den schon bestehenden Vertrag annulliert, also die Willy-Brandt-Stiftung abrupt wieder ausgeladen.
Ich hätt ja gern gewusst, warum. Mein Vortrag fand trotzdem statt, die Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften sprang als Ersatz-Location ein.
Und es war ein spannender Abend, auch dank der nachdenklichen Begrüßung durch Wolfgang Thierse und des anschließenden Bühnengesprächs mit der klugen @mariamlau7

To pass your agenda a Dem will need 60 votes in the Senate & a majority in the house. In every battleground state voters need to show up to give a Dem President the power to deliver without negotiating. If we fail to do that, we cant complain when what's delivered is watered down
