It's only a matter of time bigger some techbro suggests putting AI into a car.
AI: We're approaching a T junction, would you like to turn left or right?
Driver: That's not a T junction?
AI: Ha! You're right, good catch, it's a cul de sac, sorry about that. *Turns right and crashes*

I just don't need to know what the Telegraph has written about Dungeons & Dragons. It's a newspaper for people who are frightened of samosas.

They tried this in Excel where the icon appeared in every single cell you clicked on, and got in the way if you wanted to use the next cell to the right.
It did my head in, and seems I'm not the only one...

Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

Is there an "animals we've been bitten by" thread?
@diminutivefox.bsky.social starts with an adder.
Me: penguin.
Galapagos, snorkeling. Penguin appears & floats serenely on the surface not a foot from my nose.
I drift and watch, entranced.

Then his mate sneaks up behind me and bites my finger.
I got bitten. I’m a tad vigilant in long grass now… 👀🫣

"Why don't you replace this thing that costs a fiver to replace at Timpson's with a £500 device that also means making all your locks electronic and internet enabled so someone can track when you go in it out and then in five years the company servers will go offline and your doors won't work."
“‘The idea is very straightforward: What if this is your key? What if this is your wallet?’ Hale said of the company's smart rings, which retail for up to $499.” 😬

Also the Romans literally had a welfare system that included cash transfers for poor children. (And subsidised grain for low income workers...).

I concur.
Having spent a significant amount of time in various bits of the NHS over the last few years there does seem to be the misapprehension that working "harder" or "more" equals "better".
Which it clearly doesn't.
I don't want a tired or overworked doctor or nurse.
I'd think that was obvious?
NHS productivity is often framed as working harder or doing more work.

This is the wrong perspective and a harmful one that makes achieving productivity improvement harder...

New to the compare/contrast stakes is Heathrow third runway: 2.2 miles long and "expected to cost £49bn..." - enough to dual the A1 nearly 100 times.
Or somewhere between 34,000 and 49,000 miles of cycle superhighway.
