Dexter Holland, lead singer of The Offspring, was instrumental in this. His doctorial thesis in molecular biology was sequencing mRNA in HIV. The paper was also heavily cited in creating the COVID-19 vaccine.

Sounds high, but we’re old, and we have one new below-median $ hybrid driven median miles, and one 35yo car driven 1/3 of the median.

Mostly young folks and insurance? Remembering that at 21 with a clean record and a Mazda 323 I was paying nearly twice as much. Not adjusting for inflation either.

It was a connector, which needed cleaning, and a faulty bulb socket, which needed bending to engage the circuit board, and the bulb itself. Bad design and bad vibes, but voltmeter ftw.
