Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

No, America's rising anti-Semitism is not an online illusion created by foreign-run social media accounts on X. I wrote about how this comforting fiction is contradicted by real world events and survey data. Foreigners can fan the flames, but they didn't start the fire. We did. Gift link:

DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

Just another reminder that the primary problem with Seattle law enforcement is that the officers they hire (usually not residents) have a deep and abiding contempt for the city’s residents fed by a steady Fox News diet. And their union chief embodies that.
Mike Solan, SPD guild president, issued a statement openly questioning the validity of the votes for Katie Wilson.

Solan's embrace of the far right & SPD's history of aggression could make a dangerous situation if the national guard is sent to #Seattle.

I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

My assumption is that the New York Post has better sources inside Heritage than most other press outlets. One tidbit of note: Princeton's Robert P. George, a Heritage trustee, is said to be pushing fellow board members to oust its president Kevin Roberts. Hope he succeeds.

1. This week, news emerged that former trans athlete, student at Middlebury, and advocate for trans rights, Lia Smith, was found dead.

Her death was ruled a suicide.

But I argue that it's not only a suicide. Every trans suicide is a murder by those in power.

Trump getting away with, and the Supreme Court signing off on, designating "ANTIFA" as a "foreign terrorist group" is as likely as the administration getting away with, and the Supreme Court signing off on, Trump making war against a country that doesn't export fentanyl, for exporting fentanyl. So.

Neiwert observes: none of the text messages et al. produced as evidence of Robinson's motive were written *before* the shooting. The whole transgender storyline may be a false flag concocted by Robinson and his roommate.
Charlie Kirk perfected the ‘blame political violence on the left’ schtick, even when the perpetrators were undeniably right-wing. So naturally, his followers are using the same script in the wake of his murder.

It’s important to understand that the demonization of ‘Antifa’ isn’t just about kneecapping the enemies of MAGA. It’s about creating an opportunity to bring down the law-enforcement apparatus on anyone who dares dissent.

This has always been part of the GOP playbook: Downplay incidents of right-wing violence, and then repurpose them as supposed acts of leftist terrorism for public consumption. They first did this in 2020.
Bondi: "We've been living through a horrific cycle of political violence in this country ... night after night antifa wrecks havoc on the streets of our cities. In Minnesota, a gunman murdered a state lawmaker and her husband."
