Sprites.dev by @fly.io is a very cool new thing: it solves two of my pet problems at once, developer sandbox environments for coding agents and a JSON API for executing untrusted code

One guy tried, unsuccessfully, to blow up a plane with a bomb in his sneakers, and everybody had to take off their shoes at the airport for the next 20 years.

Chatbots have a collective body count equal to Richard "The Night Stalker" Ramirez, and they're trying to put them in schools.
30 years ago they were like we have to ban song lyrics for the children but it’s full steam ahead for the here’s how to do drugs until you die machine
“ChatGPT started coaching Sam on how to take drugs, recover from them and plan further binges. It gave him specific doses of illegal substances, and in one chat, it wrote, ‘Hell yes—let’s go full trippy mode’”

Det är nästan omöjligt att förstå det politiska spektrat i Sydamerika med svenska ögon. Och det hela blir lätt narcissistisk om man inte förstår åtm lite.

Somehow seeing these two truths combined into one statement hurts more than seeing them separately, which has been the case for the past omg-I-can’t-believe-it’s-not-even-a-year.

Even if he isn’t as ill as rumours sometime suggest, he’s not going to be in power that much longer, even if he’s still in office. Everyone needs to think about what Russia after Putin means for the rest of us, and start planning to deal with it.

The best news of 2025 (admittedly the competition wasn’t all that fierce)!
GOOD NEWS! Researchers have shown Alzheimer’s disease can be REVERSED- not just prevented. Using a potent neuroprotective compound called P7C3-A20, they found RESTORING balance to a central cellular energy molecule (NAD+) not only PREVENTED disease features but REVERSED them, EVEN at late stages.

As a tech entrepreneur I have to ask myself: am I helping build this dystopia, directly or indirectly?
In our actual cyberpunk dystopia, there will remain in the dark nooks and crannies of the world machines which are cognitohazards people must avoid.

Young people told "if you see one, don't fucking talk to it. Don't ask it any questions. It will drive you mad and get you to kill yourself."

Speed is one of the few advantages startups have. So use it.

Most things only have to be "good enough;" speed solves for that.

For the things that are wrong, "speed" causes you to find that out sooner, and fix it sooner.
