This right here is a major problem with the American political apparatus: powerful people and institutions are so worried about *scaring* us that they fail to properly *inform* us of actual dangers.
I'm genuinely confused about why I've heard virtually no public health statements or news reports about measles that actually explain all of the gruesome things measles does.
Public health seems allergic to "scaring people" - to the point of not informing people.
