Where are the Greens going in #London? There's great excitement among their activists about their new leader. But will every past Green voter in the capital be as enthused? And by how much can they really close the gap on Labour, which they aspire to displacing? www.onlondon.co.uk/dave-hill-wh...

Activists have been invigorated by the election of Londoner Zack Polanski as their leader, but they have a lot to do if they are to challenge Labour in a big way

Spent a bit of time yesterday catching up on Susan's Enthusiasms. Hall remains a good example of the degeneration of the Conservatives. #london

I crossed Tower Bridge on my #London travels early today (before going to Diwali on the Square). I could not have timed it better.

I asked them if they were tired of smiling yet. They said yes, but they didn't seem to mind. Photo taken in front of National Gallery as Diwali on the [Trafalgar] Square got underway. #london #truelondon

Long queue again outside V&A East Storehouse at the Olympic Park in east #London yesterday afternoon. How odd. The way some politicians and journalists tell it, people who live in the capital are scared to venture outside their homes. #truelondon

Why is the City of London Corporation parting company with Billingsgate and Smithfield markets? A very big long read by me with confidential bits and Oliver Twist: www.onlondon.co.uk/why-is-the-c... #london #truelondon

Interesting to watch the local Left rivals to Labour gearing up and looking ahead to next May. Will they collaborate or compete? What are their suggestions for dealing with council budget pressures and other difficulties faced by local authorities? #london #hackney

Her close ally & fellow Trump Tory, Alessandro, has praised Kemi Badenoch this week. But, so far, #Susanhall has not. It's normal for Hall to show more enthusiasm for such as Rupert Lowe than for her own party, of course. But her silence during #conservatives2025 has been striking.

It was a dream come true for this to come together. Thank you so much to everyone who came along!

My working assumption remains that SK won't seek 4th term, despite recent comments. Cleverley often touted (including by me) as potentially strong Tory candidate. Presumably, attraction of seeking candidacy will depend on the chances of a Tory win. That's very hard to judge at this stage.

It's funny because London has a much lower homicide rate than any major American city, including those in red states.

Nice disinformation though, and of course it's being spread by Elon Musk, the world's biggest spreader of disinformation

Does Robert #Jenrick consider so-called Tommy Robinson to be "integrated"? If so, why?
davehillonlondon.bsky.social
You know, I don't think"integrated" - however that word is defined - was what he actually meant. Not long ago, such a remark would have had you thrown out of the Conservative Party. Not any more: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The whole "what is Britishness?" debate, coupled with "I accuse group x, y or z of not being British properly" is not, of course, at all new. Here's one time shining new light of renewed Conservatism Shaun Bailey from 2005: cps.org.uk/research/no-... Starts with claim that "crime is everywhere".
