My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.

Before ACA, many Americans couldn’t afford insurance

Alex Smith was a diabetic who got kicked off his Mom’s insurance at 26

He made 35k a year which was “too much” for Medicaid, but not nearly enough to cover insurance premiums

He had to ration his insulin & died a month after losing insurance
Insulin's High Cost Leads To Lethal Rationing
Alec Raeshawn Smith was 23 when diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and 26 when he died. He couldn't afford $1,300 per month for his insulin and other diabetes supplies, so he tried to stretch the doses.

I was most definitely not a fan of Cyndi Lauper in the 80s, but I always thought this was a beautiful song. Glad to see she made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdQY...

The federal minimum wage has been $7.25 since 2009.

Get this. In order for millennials, GenZ and anyone younger to wield the purchasing power that White Baby Boomers were awarded in the 1970s,

minimum wage would need to be $66/hour.

White Boomers had it easy compared to all who came after them.
