Gonna have to level with you, I'm not a real architect. I just showed up in this turtleneck and, well, everything spiralled from there.

For a moment I thought this was about @jonathanliew.bsky.social , and I was confused. It was just a Robbie Keane joke!
very strange to have someone whose work i have enjoyed just out of nowhere reveal a genuinely deep-seated resentment toward me that seems to, in all honesty, be less about what i have or have not written and more about a sense of betrayal
It's quite an unusual thing to do, to get a Nazi tattoo without knowing anything about its meaning. It's even more unusual to get it in 2007, and not discover its meaning in the intervening 18 years.
for some reason. Yes, that does seem like a misstep on their part, now you come to mention it.)

I have also taken steps to improve my digital security, so I don't get hacked again.
Yesterday, my social media was hacked, and some distasteful opinions, a bit like the ones I openly have except maybe coarser and more aggressive, you know, like the sort of thing I might say when I was drunk, were posted. I have deleted the posts (because the hackers did not change the password

i see the greens are polling well with their unrealistic policies, and if there’s one thing the british political news media will not stand for it’s a party getting popular by promising things it can’t do. oooh, they hate that.
"There's only one thing we can do to distract from this scandal indicating a paedophile ring at the very highest echelons of society. Remind everyone of Louis Mountbatten, a man of unimpeachable character!"
Apparently, he's planning to revert to his original surname of Mountbatten-Windsor. Which would seem to indicate that there's a PR professional somewhere who thinks adding "Mountbatten" to a surname DISTRACTS from paedophilia...
There's a lot of farmers in the northern Louth area, with big fuel storage tanks under their land for some reason, who'll be PARTICULARLY annoyed.
His Majesty the king extends cordial greetings to his new subjects in Dundalk and hopes to visit them soon.
Mate, that isn't where the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland is AT ALL. You've basically annexed the rest of Uladh and a bit of Connacht on behalf of His Majesty, and I'm not sure he even wants it.
(For the record, I believe that there's a pretty solid case for Israel to be banned from all international sporting competition according to FIFA, UEFA and the IOC's statutes, but this isn't even about that. It's about the specific actions of one group of Israeli football fans in the last year.)
Kind of "We Are All Maccabi Tel Aviv" signalling, well, okay, but I'm begging you, begging you to do even a moment's research into them...
The idea that this is driven by anti-semitism rather than a perfectly reasonable assessment of the threat to public order posed by a group of supporters with a serious track record, in and outside Israel, of racism and violence, is prima facie ludicrous.

If supporters of Israel want to do some
This is absurd. If supporters of an English football club went to another country, committed violent hate crimes and public order offences, and the police in a subsequent country decided they couldn't be doing with it, the Prime Minister and the Leader Of The Opposition would not be caping for them.

Fans of the Israeli football team will not be allowed to attend the Europa League match at Aston Villa on 6 November owing to safety concerns Good morning. Yesterday it emerged that fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv will not be allowed to attend the Europa League match at Aston Villa on 6 November owing to safety concerns. The decision was taken by Birmingham’s safety advisory group, based on advice from the West Midlands police, who said the match would be “high risk” based on “current intelligence and previous incidents, including violent clashes and hate crime offences that occurred during the 2024 Uefa Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam”. There is more on the announcement here. The decision prompted widespread condemnation from political leaders. Keir Starmer said: This is the wrong decision. We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. This is a national disgrace. How have things come to this? A serious mistake by WM Police. You don’t tackle antisemitism by banning its victims. This decision must be reversed. From the moment that the match was announced, it was clear that there were latent safety risks that even our capable security and police authorities would not be able to fully manage. With so much hostility and uncertainty around the match, it was only right to take drastic measures. As Israel continues its assault on Gaza, killing thousands and devastating civilian infrastructure, sporting fixtures involving Israeli teams cannot be separated from the wider political context. Hosting such teams sends a message of normalisation and indifference to mass atrocities. [The decision is] just completely and utterly unacceptable, and the prime minister has said we will do everything we possibly can to resolve this issue. It’s an operational issue for the police, and government doesn’t get involved in operational issues for the police. Continue reading...

When I stopped smoking, the thing that worked best for the cravings was hot pepper sauce. I used to just swig it from the bottle.
I've done some stories about capsaicin and interviewed the creator of reaper. Hot pepper eating is a safe "high" for people who have had substance abuse issues, is what he told me. Definitely makes you feel weirdly elated afterward. www.sciencehistory.org/stories/maga...
Heat Therapy
Humans have a masochistic love of capsaicin, a molecule responsible for the burn in hot peppers. That connection could be a key to pain relief.

This is Caramacs all over again.

Not the most important feature of this article, but I've worked in several restaurants, and we never had a megaphone. It's just not a regular part of restaurant equipment.
If Labour don't want to lose "centre-left" people's votes, might I suggest that they do a single "centre-left" thing?
I met Carl Orff's widow on a German school exchange in 1993 (We went to Carl Orff Gymnasium in Unterschleißheim outside Munich.) I think she was only in her 50s.
The Fields Of Athenry was written in 1977 and first recorded in 1979 by Danny Doyle, whose version reached No 10 in the Irish charts. Other songs in the Top 10 at the time included I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor and Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel.

If you can, please read Naoise Dolan writing about her treatment after being illegally abducted by Israel from the Thousand Madleens flotilla. It's pretty chilling, and it's a drop in the ocean compared to what they subject Palestinians to.
