Real hoop and #rstats. github.com/daranzolin
{sqltargets} 0.3.0 just hit CRAN, now includes the ability to pass 'dbi' parameters into queries. Turns out using SQL with #rstats {targets} is pretty fun!

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

Gonna be a data.table person after seeing this.

(slice_head/slice_max should’ve been peak())
Do you teach #rstats? Do your students complain about how lame and old-fashioned dplyr is? Don't worry: I have the solution for you: github.com/hadley/genzp....

genzplyr is dplyr, but bussin fr fr no cap.
GitHub - hadley/genzplyr: dplyr but make it bussin fr fr no cap

No on A
No on 50
Rishi Kumar for Assessor

Knowing nothing about Kumar, I knew immediately not to vote for him.
People of Santa Clara County.

Put this on your calendar NOW.

You need to vote AGAIN on December 30 to make sure Rishi Kumar does not become assessor in this run off election.
Hey Santa Clara County voters

Do NOT vote for Rishi Kumar for assessor.

Please reshare to boost!!

"Which brings us to the real reason why Trump is an enemy of urban America. If cities like D.C. and Los Angeles truly were crime-ridden hellholes, they would pose little threat to the MAGA movement. It is because these are prosperous and dynamic places that they must be occupied."

The backstory here is that the Squamish people of what is now Vancouver were illegally dispossessed of this land a century ago. They sued, got their land back, and are using their sovereignty to ignore local zoning rules and build 6,000 new homes over the objections of nearby wealthy NIMBYs.

Finally checked the Use Native Pipe Operator RStudio #rstats option. For those constantly piping into [Vv]iew(), a small advantage to the native pipe is that the 'title' argument gets automatically supplied as the function call instead of the cryptic '.' from magrittr.

Unironically yes--to quote the scientists at the IPCC in a report on the MITIGATION OF CLIMATE CHANGE: '...cities will achieve the largest GHG emissions savings by replacing, repurposing, or retrofitting the building stock, targeted infilling and densifying...'

Inside the NBA was neither informative nor entertaining. The emperor’s new clothes of sports shows. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of petty republican bullies spew nonsense I’d turn on Fox News.

This is the least sexy data and programming post of all time, but sqlfluff is great software. Useful, intuitive, and versatile, it's helped me write better code.

This is the education plank of the plot to enslave America: secular private academies for the rich, religious instruction for the middle class, and a prison-like rump of public schools for the poor. With our Constitution in tatters, they're racing to implement it
The Texas House early on Thursday approved a far-reaching school voucher program, agreeing to send $1 billion of taxpayer dollars to families for private and often religious education. trib.al/MKJ8Kyg

Thinking about Disco Elysium. Harry is somehow both a singular individual and “Everyman” like from a morality play. A work of true genius, on par with Shakespeare, Homer, Tolstoy, Twain, etc.
