For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

Hades II coming out within a month of Silksong is a cruel joke on my ever increasing lack of free time.

A lot of great looking games showing up at the State of Play tonight but Final Fantasy Tactics showing up again after so long has to be the highlight. Went back to the PSP version a few years ago and it really is up there with the best of what the series has ever done.

It hurts my brain that I found out about a Gears of War remaster from the PlayStation Instagram account.

Was lucky enough to go along to the PlayStation concert in Glasgow last night after getting tickets for my birthday. Loved it, all the musicians were incredibly talented and it was such a well put together production. Hearing songs from some of my favourite games was a very special experience.

'Dreams on a Pillow' is precisely the sort of thing the games industry SHOULD be making way more of, and is extremely deserving of your attention.

It's close to its funding goal, so go help push it over?

Game 2 of my break is the wonderful Venba from @visaigames.bsky.social. What an insightful look at a culture that's sadly rarely represented in other games. It's short but it doesn't waste a single second in delivering its incredibly personal, heartfelt story.

Kicked off my Christmas break gaming by finally playing Röki and really can't recommend it enough. It's rare for a game to capture me so quickly but everything about it just clicked in a really wonderful way. It's a very special game and I'm genuinely already looking forward to playing it again.

Thanks, Eurogamer, for running this. It remains crazy how intentionally silenced this story has been in games media, so it's good to see someone bravely report on it.

Started playing Eastward over the weekend and it's properly got its hooks in me. The story, gameplay, music are all fantastic and it's one of the best looking games I've ever played. Feel like this is gonna be something special.

Saw all three (extended) LOTR movies at the cinema this week and it was just an absolute joy. Never saw them on the big screen when they came out so it was nice to finally make it happen 20+ years later!
