I feel like gameplay rebalancing romhacks of rpgs are obsessed with the idea of like making all gear like kinda equal but they have weird, different effects
which just means that rather than having a progression curve, you get a bunch of useless shit that doesn't matter

Became obsessed with the fan theory that Cloud and Sephiroth are Zack's Nobody and Heartless. Which makes 1000 times more since than whatever story you'd have to cobble together to connect the three otherwise.

Clear rates for the new quantum content in FFXIV being like abysmally low is not surprising to me, but it is like one of the biggest pieces of evidence that high content really does not work as a carrot on a stick
