Project Hanuman is out on November 11th. Today, I wanted to highlight that the gent that is @justinleeanderson.com gave it this summary: Battlestar Galactica crossed with The Matrix on a heavy dose of LSD.

Which, honestly, will do for me. #sff #sciencefiction #scifi
The marvellous Kayleigh Dobbs at Happy Goat Horror reviews The Sound of the Dark!
"A belter of a horror story... I loved it and would wholeheartedly recommend it to horror fans who enjoy splicing body horror with true crime and supernatural elements."

Okay, so it turns out Peter is a deeply sinister and unpleasant weirdo who leaves shitty handprints on everything he touches. But that doesn’t mean anyone who matters has to reflect upon anything we have done, and it certainly doesn’t reflect poorly on any of us. Fuck you.
Thanks for putting it in my brain... I think. (wibble)
A Game In Yellow by @haileypiperfights.bsky.social.
This really is something just extraordinary. Like The King In Yellow, this book has done something to my head. In a good way. I think. Not for the first time, I am in awe and envy of this writer.

Thank you all for giving A GAME IN YELLOW a beautiful release day & a lovely launch at Little District Books. I'm floored by the well wishes, the gasps, the maddened yowling ... some of this might be in the walls, but perhaps it's also in ourselves 😌

I'm grateful you let mine creep in with them 💛

Notice how the initial, absurd story - police were frightened into ignoring sex crimes by Woke HR and the Guardian - was automatically believed. It was in the Times! It quoted senior police and politicians! Well, what if the paper is a malicious wingnut boobyhatch and these people were bullshitting.
As I said on day one, the first day that the Times broke the story about the gangs: the idea that the police were too petrified to investigate sexual offences by Asian men because they might be perceived as racist did not pass *the laugh test*, never mind the smell test.

I'll add that while there's nothing wrong with comfort art, there's absolutely something wrong if you're willing to engage ONLY with comfort art. You should be running into art that perplexes you or gets under your skin or makes you ask questions or that you dislike without calling for its removal.
Let's talk about weird art.

Weird art, gross art, sexual art, violent art, all has its place and belongs. And you really need to stop acting like the existence of uncomfortable themes equals harm. That kind of censorship, which IS what that is, only serves to silence and abuse people.
