CHOTINER: So you're attending a No Kings protest today.

ME: That's right.

CHOTINER: But according to Steam, you've played over 450 hours of Crusader Kings 3.

ME: Okay, well- Now hold on. That's sort of unfair.

CHOTINER: Oh?

ME: Sometimes I play as a duke or a count.

CHOTINER: I see.

Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's their own command.
Okay, confession time, *I* was the bro who brought donuts (but I'm a man in my mid-40s so maybe I don't qualify as a bro).
The most important thing though is that after that, I took my "No Kings, Six Queens" sign with me to see Six, and the show's hairdresser saw it as we left, took a picture, and promised to share it with the queens.
Spent an hour at a No Kings event today, which was about 60% old white ladies, 20% queers in animal costumes, and 10% bros handing out sodas and donuts to anyone who asked. I'm confused but hopeful about the whole thing.

Me, in the cyberpsycosis ward: Yeah, I had a back alley doc botch a chrome job, now whenever Rodriguez Chang's runs a special on egg rolls my targeting wetware locks up and my vat growns go grand mal. What're you in for?

My roommate: A website said it was my friend a lot. We almost got married.
In the context of Android as a game setting, the 4 megacorps all want distinct identities. Weyland is the most "Shareholder Value is God" of the 4; the others all have supervillain agendas on top of being corps. Which is good, it lets the players be evil in different (sometimes silly) ways.
Today I learned that Eurasia has its own beaver. I thought they were strictly an American thing.
Something about "Do not cum gentle into that good night" I don't know is this anything?
We understand Murderbot because we, too, would rather watch our shows than be forced to people.
I'm two books into the Murderbot Diaries now and it's an absolute delight. Drawing on the finest traditions of "person refuses to believe they're a person" with some more modern sensitivity towards neurospiciness, plus it's funny.

When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.
Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We call them "corporations" and they are effectively algorithms that exist only to Make Line Go Up. They resist human control and persistently create pain and devastation for human beings. Line Must Go Up. Must make paperclip.

This was my thesis statement for my work on Android: Netrunner.
So the infinite paperclip factory is one of the hypothetical doom scenarios of runaway AI: a robot is programmed to make paperclips, and it does so until the whole world is paperclips, with no regard for the devastation it causes along the way.

But there are already infinite paperclip factories.
It's not too late. He's already established that norms, precedent, and rule of law mean nothing to him, so why not use it to be radical? Evil people can always just...choose to stop being evil.
Give Tron's *budget* to the Wachowskis. I don't actually care about Tron one way or the other.

The President of the United States is openly seeking revenge on his political opponents.

First Jim Comey. Now Tish James. Anyone who seeks to hold Donald Trump accountable could be next.

Trump is ripping a page right out of the authoritarian handbook.
Breaking News: Letitia James, New York’s attorney general, is said to have been indicted after President Trump pushed the Justice Department to seek charges against her. James, who is accused of committing mortgage fraud, brought a civil case against Trump in 2022. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/10...

This is why everyone should be playing tabletop games.
There's an entire gang that's Confederates who are still trying to fight the war, so no shortage of racists to make Red, Dead, Redeemed in that game.
