You may have heard @mrjamesob.bsky.social recommending an article on his show yesterday.

"Who Goes Nazi?" by renowned American journalist Dorothy Thompson, is a wonderful piece of writing. ⬇️

What a one-sided article. From claiming that there are 100s of monasteries from the middle ages (absolutely untrue) to not mentioning terrorist attacks by Serbs on Ibar canal and in Banjska. The later was the reason to ban Srpska lista party, since its leader was directly involved in the terrorism.

The weirdest form of this narrative is people not talking about how smaller states vote only to THEN claim that smaller states do not matter.

All of this.
However hard it may be for the people of Ukraine now, settling for a Bosnia-type "peace agreement" will only make the war continues with other means.
As a Bosnian, do I wish we had continued fighting in 1995? Absolutely.
Of course, there's always a "Nagorno-Karabakh" option but also
Great video. I think Dayton is of considerable relevance as a parallel, and warning, regarding Ukraine peace talks, and am surprised it is not referenced more. A bit of thread.

A very definition of "useful idiot" and Putin apologist.
There's nothing worse than spoiled western kids who never had any real job or life struggle start preaching us about Russia
I'm saying that if Russia has struggled to invade eastern Ukraine then it is not going to get anywhere in Poland, is it?

Your second point is bizarre. Zelensky's opponent was an anti-Russian hardliner? In 2010, eastern Ukraine voted overwhelmingly for Viktor Yanukovych.

To say that EU has bigger fish to fry would be understatement. This is so unrealistic, out of touch, that is almost tragic. ECFR could claim that they don't take collective positions but to have this published under their banner is embarrassing.

Venezuela is clearly in the US sphere. It has bought foreign militaries into the US backyard & destabilised the region by laying claim to the territories of its neighbors. They should pledge neutrality and choose a new leader Donald approves of in case he lashes out with nukes.

1 Can't emphasize this enough. EU is home to multiple "second-tier" great powers — who are only "second-tier" because they chose not to make large investments in military capabilities — and is itself an economic & diplomatic great power. NATO is the most powerful security confederation in history.
It sure seems like Vance leads a faction that is enamored of 🇷🇺's cultivated cultural conservative "soft power", reflexively anti-Atlanticist, and stupid enough to think that wedging 🇷🇺-🇨🇳 is a) realistic and b) worth trashing our relationship with the world's third largest economy.

I'm not as optimistic as Alexander but he keeps saying this for months and you know what? He ain't wrong. 😊
The ability of so many analysts, academics and commentators to convince themselves that the United States has all the cards towards Europeans or anyone else even as Trump accelerates the American ship of state towards the rocks of geopolitical reality is one of the wonders of our time.

And not just Ukraine but Bosnia and Kosovo tomorrow, being attacked by proto-Russians from Serbia
1/ What a Russian breaking of the ceasefire will look like, step by step.

There are far better experts on this, but I was an Australian diplomat in Ukraine in 2014 so I've seen this play out up close.

So join me, brothers and sisters, as we count down to a fullscale re-invasion.

Terrific thread, perfectly capturing LLM and AI madness we're living in.
Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.
November 19, 2025 at 2:30 PM
Perfect assessment of LLMs and people using them excessively.
The bigger change is presentation, historically, these emails were visually chaotic: sudden colour changes, ALL CAPS, screenshots pasted at random. Classic signs of disordered thinking. Now they’re neat, structured, and grammatically consistent. The delusion hasn't changed, but the formatting has.
