2/2 After regaining independence we kept russ schools for the 'minority' but it turned out to be under heavy russ propaganda, hate for Latvia, and not learning language at all (so I was expected to speak russ to them in my own country). It was effectively ended after February 24, 2022.

1/2 Historic context matters here - Latvia was heavily russified during occupation (Soviet times). Latvians killed and oppressed. Loads of russians brought in to erase our identity. russian language was imposed.
