When a vicious aggressor pursues extermination of its victim - with ZERO regard for ALL laws of war and for international and humanitarian law- and the international community does not protect the victim, the victim should not be constrained in its defence, but do EVERYTHING required to survive.

It is hard for me to understand how anyone is the least bit surprised to learn that the Trump administration is working hand in hand with Moscow. The Trump-Putin partnership has been obvious from the outset.

The European Union and Canada have used a "peace plan" written in Moscow as the template for a new "acceptable" Ukrainian capitulation plan. This is what we call Russian victory. Our leaders are FAILING us.

Despite all the high-minded and supportive sounding rhetoric, it is next to impossible to believe that the West actually genuinely cares about Ukraine's existence beyond its role as a 'buffer' between Russia and the EU.

If NATO and the EU were actually committed to the principle that "Borders must not be changed by force" they would be fighting with Ukraine to protect that principle in Ukraine and thereby the rest of the world. But that isn't what we see. Instead, it's "negotiated peace" talk.

If my interpretation was incorrect we would see western boots on the ground in Ukraine because, should Ukraine agree to ANY change (temporary or otherwise) it will be ONLY because Russia invaded, not because Ukraine wishes to give away territory and people to Moscow.

When leaders of NATO and EU nations say that Ukraine's "borders must not be changed by force", they leave out the next part implied in the "negotiated peace with Russia" rhetoric: Borders *can* be changed by *political agreement* AFTER force is used.

There is absolutely no reason for the European Union and NATO to behave like we are hostage to the policy choices and objectives of the United States on matters of international affairs, in particular, on Russia's war and genocide against Ukraine. We're not slaves or pawns to Washington.
